Nice thick quality crock for my pickle making!
This crock is awesome! Not only does it look great on my counter...but makes awesome pickles!Make sure you keep an eye on the water at the top (water seal) and keep that fresh and filled (a feature I appeciate). The weights can take come practice getting them into a full crock of cucumbers...but I have found that some patience or taking a cucumber or two out, will get them in and weigh them down under your brine nicely! The crock is thick and solid which is a huge plus (thick like the crocks years ago). This was my first time making pickles and using a crock...I will buy this one again happily if I need another one! Highly recommended!

Go to item for fermenters!
Excellent product, really saves me time and prevents rusted jar bands. I’ve been making sauerkraut 12 years now, improving time each year. Past best time saver was shredding cabbage on 3 slicers of a grater. This saves time in that I can do 3 batches (quarts) at once in this container without brine slopping all over the place in individual jars. Then 5 days later, I simply neatly place the kraut in jars with tongs…no mess and easy to wipe jars and no rust since brine contained. Do 3 or less quarts so brine does not overflow during fermentation:) DO NOT use the salt amounts on instructions, use 1 1/2 tsp per quart. You need a good salty taste, not a taste where the salt overrides the cabbage.I.E., 14 lbs (3 1/2qts) cabbage I used 3 tbsp (3 tsp/tbsp) salt which was way too much!

Poor quality!
Ceramic weights showed up chipped from shipping damage as well as showing a manufacturing defect. The clay had an open seam which did not get glazed and is a cavity for bad bacteria to thrive and infect the fermented product.Edit: the seller reached out and gave a full refund without requiring a return. Very honorable of them!

“Perfect Starter Size for Small Batches”
Great for fermenting sauerkraut or pickles at home. The weight stones fit well and the lid seals nicely. Only downside is that it’s a bit small if you're making large batches.

Excellent customer service and great product
Had a crack develop in mine after a few months. It hadn't broken through the rim yet but they were great and sent a replacement within a few days, no questions asked. Thank you! Otherwise it's worked great and is awesome for those who want to get into fermenting. The sauerkraut and veggies we have fermented so far turned out great, it's very easy to use.

Does a great job for kombucha, sauerkraut, and as a cookie jar!
This crock has that great feature of being airtight, yet allowing fermentation gases to escape. Do remember to fill the little trough at the top of the jar to maintain this airtight condition during processing. In between processing your kombucha, vegetables, or sauerkraut, it makes a fine cookie jar!

I do love my sauerkraut
I wish I’d bought this long ago. While my kraut has always turned out fine in gallon jars with my cobbled-together weights, stepping up to this crock has been a game changer and I’m turning out a better kraut. I’m in Arizona and it’s very dry, so evaporation while it’s fermenting was always a problem. With the water channel to seal the lid of this crock, it’s much better. The one gallon crock fits a batch made with two good sized heads of cabbage, which is perfect for me. If you’re still using random jars and whatever else you can find for your fermentation projects, make yourself happy and get one of these babies.
