Tuttnauer 1730 Valueklave, Compact Footprint and Easy Operation, Ideal Autoclave For Small Offices

This passed a spore test on the first try. You HAVE to read the instructions and make sure that the feet are adjusted to the correct pitch so that the correct amount of water will enter the chamber so that it will hold pressure long enough. My only complaint is that when I went to level the feet, the brass nut inside the unit that holds on one of the feet spun off inside because it wasn't screwed on all the way at the factory and I had to carefully unscrew/open three side panels to fish it out and screw it back on. I was not able to find any vertical racks for lining up pouches side by side, so I could only fit one pouch on each rack horizontally. So you can only do 3 tools at a time if you use self-sealing pouches. Also, it's a really tight fit for IUD tools. It is hard to find pouches for a reasonable price that are long enough but not too wide. I just got 7.5x13" pouches that I will try and will update this review if they don't fit. My idea for a workaround is to sterilize them loose before doing the IUD and keep them in the sterilizer until ready to use them and set them out on a sterile covered field. That would probably only work if you don't do too many IUDs.

Well made, good enough capacity for a small office . It does require attention to operation. Meaning, you just can’t set it and walk away. Other than that, it’s a great buy. With its’ manual operation, a lot less to go wrong!!!

Works well. Instruction manual could be better organized for the item actually bought not for all tuttnauer autoclaves. Recommends a rack for use with pouches but they don't make one small enough for this valueklave 1730. They said to use oil on the door but didn't specify what type. Came with a screw loose to the top so got a small discount.

Unit stopped working in 16months of use. After a few uses paint pealed off near the vent, contacted the seller, seller promised to send us a new cover, never received one. Unit was working despite of the suspicions very early cosmetic defect, but stopped working just over one year.

this is my third unit and they all work great after 4 years.
