I bought these as a gift for my elderly friends who have trouble opening bottles of water. The openers don't have a strong textured side so my friends tried using both sides and found them difficult to use. They were unable to open the bottles of water. One side is slightly rougher than the other, so the user needs to be shown which side to use. They aren't ideal but okay for some people. I wouldn't recommend them for elderly ones with little hand strength. These openers are not very thick, and are very lightweight. Colors are nice but if they aren't helpful, Colors makes no difference.

Not as grippy as the older type. Smooth instead of textured. Otherwise nice.
