My go to tea now
Love this tea, drink it daily. I often put honey in my tea, but this tea has such great taste I do not have to mix it with anything. For the price, it is well worth it. Tastes great. I'll definitely buy more

Favorite afternoon tea.
This Hojicha tea has a roasted, nutty, toasty, flavor with a touch of dark coco. Add honey for sweetness. Overall it's my favorite afternoon tea. True Japan quality tea.

Not my cup of tea, but I'm sure others would enjoy it.
The quality of the tea itself is great, but I purchased this to enjoy a low caffeine green tea. This has a burnt earthy taste, that was just not green tea for me, so I switched to co2 caffeine extracted decafs. They are much more expensive than this tea, but taste wonderful. This tea is much better if you treat it like black tea, and add milk I will say, and it also did not give me anxiety like other green teas, so the caffein content must have been low as promised.

Best I can find on Amazon.com. After visiting Japan last year.
Hojicha tea from Uji, Japan, is something special and totally unique. Uji is known for producing some of the best teas around, and their Hojicha is no exception. What makes this tea stand out is the roasting process—it gives the leaves a warm, brown color and a toasty, nutty smell with just a hint of smokiness. When you sip it, you’ll notice how smooth and mellow it is, with flavors of toast, caramel, and even a bit of cocoa. It's super comforting and layered without being overpowering. Plus, because it’s low in caffeine, it's a great option if you're sensitive to caffeine or want a calming drink at night without worrying about staying up too late. You can enjoy Hojicha hot, which really brings out its warmth and richness, or iced if you're looking for something refreshing on a warm day. Some people even like to mix it with milk for a creamy, roasted latte vibe. Aside from how good it tastes, Hojicha is also packed with antioxidants, so it’s a healthy choice too. Whether you’re already into tea or just getting started, Hojicha from Uji is definitely worth checking out for its flavor and health benefits.

Great quality and value.
We love this tea! Low in caffeine and tastes great. I've bought several of these and intend to buy more as needed. This is a good price as well for organic tea. Hojicha is our favorite tea and this doesn't disappoint.

I prefer hojicha powder
I recently started drinking hojicha and wanted to try the powder and the leaves to see what I prefer. Hojicha powder is definitely the winner. As a coffee drinker, I enjoy intense flavor and the powder offers that smoky bitter flavor I love. The leaves are much weaker. I even tried adding several more Tbsp to make it stronger, but it’s just not the same. This is a good option for people who are sensitive to caffeine. Hojicha is low in caffeine to begin with, but the leaves are an even better option for people who really want to watch their caffeine intake.

I am a fan of Japanese teas of the less stratospheric variety. I enjoy drinking genmaicha (green tea with roasted brown rice mixed in it) hojicha (roasted green tea) and kukicha (kind of sticks and stems from the tea plant.) These are flavourful, not as caffeinated as regular black tea, and some such as genmaicha are anti-oxident and anti-inflammatory. I purchased this brand of hojicha after not having any of that kind of tea in the pantry for a couple of years. I was attracted by its being organic, and of a trustworthy brand. I like it, and have at least one cup a day every day in the afternoon, and maybe an additional cup with dinner. It needs to be made properly, so follow the instructions on the bag to the letter. I use a "tea egg" or "tea ball" in my cup to make the tea. My wife uses a tea strainer. Good luck.

Japanese visitors approved. The roasted scent and taste was a wonderful reminder of roasted tea back in Japan. Would buy again.

Amazing product my son love it! The taste is unbelievable! The first time we tried it at Japan House in London ( a famous Japanese Restaurant) and since then we have it every morning with our breakfast its a very light tea not heavy to drink in the morning We usually matching with our salted breakfast. Amazing product! I wish they'll sell a big packet options.
