Great for the price. Can't beat it!!!
I installed 4 volume controls this weekend. They replaced NXG-70 rotary knob controls. Contrary to what some users have reported, these fit into a standard plastic gang box without any issue (They take up the same amount of room as the NXG models), however if you have a lot of extra speaker wire in the gang box it can be a tight fit. My advice would be to trim up the wires to the minimum required anyway. For me, installation was a breeze and looks MUCH nicer than the rotary versions. The slider does have a slight cheap feeling from the off position, but tightens up quickly. Not enough to concern me. Great Purchase for the money!!! If you're a business installing these, I would go with the Dayton Models, they look and feel a bit nicer. They are double the price though.

Good product that's priced right.
Failed after 2 days. They sent me a replacement the next day. Smooth operation works as advertised. Easy to install and priced right, but best thing about this company is how fast they took care of my return. Great service to say the least. Happy with my purchase, and will buy from them again.

Installation can be tough with 14ga
I would say 14ga is pushing it for max wire size. It says 12ga, but man is it tight in the 2 gang box with this and the push button source switcher. Had to make sure all excess wire was pushed back into the wall. I prefer the OSD Slider versus the OSD knob for volume control. I bought an OSD push button source selector, but I have decided to change to the OEM Systems because the button is larger and there is a graphic on the front showing A vs B source. I have a small 50x2 amplifier to power a couple Polk Audio in wall speakers. This switch supports the 100w total I need for this solution. If you need more wattage to larger speakers, you need to move up to the 300w model. Its much heavier, and you will have even less space in your gang box. Consider cutting off the back of your deep gang box to make the installation easier. It was too late for me. Also you can pull the black and red connectors out and make your wire connections first, then plug it back in. Thats much easier.

In-Wall Volume Control - a couple of caveats
Product comes with white, ivory, and almond components to match existing switch plates. Hookup is simple and convenient with captive screws. Sound quality is quite good though I wouldn't use it for applications where exceptional fidelity is required. Give yourself plenty of depth to mount this critter; it's pretty deep. My application required Wiremold and I used an extra deep box AND an extender box before it would fit inside the box. A low voltage box on a wall would be required for an in-wall application. It's nearly as deep as the depth of a 2x4 wall stud. The volume slider could work a little smoother, perhaps it will with time. Both that I installed were stiff from the off position to the midway point where it stuck. Once past the midway point, it worked smoothly.

Works well and looks good too! Will be buying another for my dining room. It easy to install and the wire connections at the back pops off for easy install, then clips back on. A deep electrical box would be beneficial as the item is quite deep and would make arranging with wires much easier.

Great product. Previous switch would let sound through even at the lowest level and this new switch turns the volume off completely. Good product!

Affordable alternative to the Leviton deluxe models and comes with 3 faceplate alternatives. Bulky transformer requires a large outlet box and the slider does not fit as tight as the more expensive models but otherwise easy to install and it works just fine.

Fastest shipment I've seen. Seems like good, solid, heavy unit. Seems to work very well. But do urself a favour, install in a very deep box, saves stress on the connections and headache.

I've yet to finish the whole installation so a complete review can't be given at this stage. BUT you had better have the largest electrical box you can get to accommodate this unit. I have a double gang box that would have been a slick installation if I hadn't run the "in" cables for the control on one side and the "out" leads in the other side of the box. As a result it's really, really cramped on the side of the box where the unit has to go. For a new home instillation I would recommend a double box with all the leads on one side. I doubt that with any size wire above #18 you would be able to get the unit and the wires in a single box. If I could rewire the boxes I certainly would have done that. The unit is just as the picture shows. It's transformer based not the old fashioned fader "L pad" of past decades. Otherwise it looks good, now to finish up the job and see how it actually works.
