Great, sturdy little harness.
UPDATE October 2015: Ya know what.... I'm sitting here giggling at my previous review (which I've left intact below the asterisks), because I totally and completely take back what I said about there being no chance in hell that a dog could wiggle out of these harnesses. These harnesses are NOT APPROPRIATE for Miniature Pinschers. Min Pins, lovable yet mischievous and always looking for ways to escape, can wriggle themselves out of these harnesses with ease. I learned this the hard way about 4-5 times. With *both* of my Min Pins. It's a damn shame because its a soft and comfortable harness, but they developed this technique where they stretch out their front legs and just hit the reverse button and slip right out of the harnesses. If your dog is one of those "escape artist" breeds, think twice. *** I bought this harness in pink and in sky blue for my miniature pinscher. For some reason these have slight sizing variations, although both were ordered in x-small. The pink one fits my dog perfectly, but the sky blue one is slightly tighter around the neck. In any case, I am very happy with this harness. I know for sure there is no way my dog can wiggle out of it, as agitated as she tends to be. The mesh seems to be pretty comfortable. She never complains about having it on, and sleeps with it. I don't take it off unless it is to wash it or to change colors or just wear a collar. It is well sewn and constructed - doesn't feel cheap at all. In terms of fit, the x-small fits her perfectly. She is a 3.5 month old miniature pinscher, about 10 inches high and 11 inches long.. about 9ish inches around the neck. This fits her snugly and comfortably. Hope that helps any min-pin owners get an idea of size. I definitely recommend this harness for a hyper dog who likes to try and wiggle out of harnesses, cause there is no chance of that happening with this one! It's also very cute.

Comfy and easy to put on your dog!
I have been buying these harnesses in multiple colors for years for my dogs. They are better than any harness I have ever seen, especially in terms of easy to put on your dog. The ones from pet stores, Walmart, etc. all have so many straps and make no sense to me. These are super easy to slip on and off. Comfortable and soft. These are also affordable and come in great colors and a variety. 5 stars! Lucy (pictured) is about 55 pounds and a size XL.

sizing difficult on my larger dog, but works well when it fits
***the last image in the "customer images" section is a more complete size chart that includes measurement for back length. According to this chart my larger dog does need the XXL based on back length*** I have two dogs who will both determinedly choke themselves and pull on their collar if they see any prey-type creatures. I became concerned that they were both suffering from different neck injuries so I wanted to try a harness. My smaller dog is a 21 pound Shiba Inu. Her vet had suggested she might be developing some vertebral issues around her neck, and she did not like me putting on a collar to take her for a walk. I bought a store-brand version of this harness in Large (looks identical except for brand tag) in a local big box retailer. I was very happy with how it worked on this dog. It fit perfectly. Wish I had listened to what the dog was telling me sooner about not liking her collar... she much prefers the harness to her old collar. She does not fight the harness and will put her head right into it. I was afraid she would become less responsive to leash commands, but if anything she seems more responsive, and I feel very good that the harness is taking some of the pressure off her neck when she stubbornly bolts after something, and hits the end of her leash. It's very easy to put on and take off, just slip over the head, then one buckle around the torso. The local big-box retailer did not have any size bigger than "large" so I turned to Amazon for my larger dog, a 45 pound Lab/Shar Pei mix. She is 15 and does some funny breathing and choking that made me concerned about trachea issues after a lifetime of choking herself against her collar when she spots any neighborhood cat. Following sizing advice in the item description and from reviewers, I measured her head, and around her torso, and ordered the Extra Large. It fit over her head and around her torso OK, but was way too short in the chest piece that goes down under the belly. The straps would have dug into the back of her legs, so it went back to Amazon. I then ordered the XXL in purple. It just fits on the smallest setting. It's quite huge compared to the XL. They need another size between the XL and the XXL. I've had both harnesses for a few weeks now and have washed them both a few times in a washing machine with detergent and bleach. Both still look brand-new with no apparent color fading. If you are considering a harness, I highly recommend it. I'm very happy with them. New research is showing that even dogs with no outward signs of injury very commonly have trachea damage due to use of regular choke collars.

Works great, but is rough for the dog.
I really didn't want to use a regular collar on my dog, so i looked into harnesses. Puppia is pretty much dominating the market with these and there are a few different models out there. This is the first one I got. Keep in mind my puppy (golden retriever) is growing so I knew I'd have to buy a few sizes, so I started off with the small when he was 2 months old. It fit pretty decent at first. But note that you have to force your dogs head through the opening on the harness, it does not stretch or give at all. So it can be rather difficult if they have a very thick head, or not fit right if they have a small head and thick neck. After about a month is was entirely too difficult to continue to get this on/off my dog and I found myself leaving it on for long periods of time, which annoyed my dog itching wise. I then came across Authentic Puppia Combat RiteFit Harness, Camouflage, Medium in medium. It solved the over the head problem and provided some more padding around the neck. It has two clips and velcros allowing you to put it around the neck instead of over the head. The medium size lasted my dog another 6 weeks, after which we're now in a large size (he still isn't nearly fully grown). The limiting factor on the medium wasnt the neck (as it was on the small) but the chest adjustment strap, was at its max and still too tight/no room for growth. All in all I love the Puppia harness, especially the "RiteFit" models. This model I wouldn't really recommend unless you have a specific reason against the rite-fit. If you have a growing dog expect to change out the sizes frequently until they're done growing. If you leave this on your dog for long periods of times, they may itch a lot (at least mine does). And the scratching inevitable tears up the outer fabric on Puppia, which means I might be replacing this more frequently then I wish.

Great harness
I have Puppia Soft Dog Harnesses for all my dogs. The dogs can’t wiggle out of these so it makes walking with them much easier. I also use them to secure the dogs in the car while going places. They are soft on their chest and are available in many colors and sizes.

Comfortable and Secure Harness
This Puppia soft dog harness is a great option for small dogs. The breathable mesh material is soft and lightweight, so my pup seems really comfortable wearing it. The over-the-head design is easy to put on, and the adjustable chest strap helps get a secure fit. The no-choke design is a big plus, especially for dogs that tend to pull on walks. The green color looks great, too! Just make sure to check the sizing—these run a little small, so sizing up might be a good idea. Overall, a well-made and comfortable harness!
