Size
It’s good but the size is very small

Firstly, it is not deep fill. It doesn't even fit a normal sized slice of bread in it. And even with minimal fillings it overflows and is super hard to clean up. On top of all this it supports out the power to the house when we try to use it.

Wrong plug! I bought it in Australia, there was no mention of the wrong plug. It's useless to me.

This does its job as a sandwich toaster adequately, but it's so loaded with issues it's hard to recommend. Yes, the plates are removable for washing and it's reasonably quick to heat up (basically the same time it'll take you to make up your sandwiches), but that's about it. As the photos show, it's too small to accommodate a standard supermarket loaf slice, leading to the excess sticking out of the sides. Nor is this really capable of taking a deep filling. You really want a panini maker for truly deep fillings. Indeed, I think in future I'd spend £10 more and get a toastie maker with multiple plates for more flexibility and a longer life. Note that this is an update to Breville's VST041 model, but the only difference is the shape and layout of the toasting plates. They have been redesigned to have thinner diagonals and some raised grooves have been added, presumably to lessen seepage from your sandwich. The new plates seem to work better than their predecessors, but not perfectly. The diagonals certainly don't seal in your filling well and therein lies a major issue. Sooner or later, the non-stick plates will loose their coating, especially around those diagonals. That's what happened to our VST041 and you can see it will happen to this model too: look at the filling left behind on the diagonals. When the plates do cease to be non-stick, you can't just buy replacements, even though they are clearly a standard part, manufactured to almost the same specifications for many, many years. Instead, you must buy a completely new machine. It feels like designed-in obsolescence. That's bad for the consumer and bad for our planet. When we need a new toastie maker - as we undoubtedly will due to the lack of replacement plates - we'll be looking elsewhere.

This toaster is great, followed instructions by waiting for the orange light before putting my bread in and it came out great. No leaks and it toasted it to perfection. Only down is the plates can’t be detached for washing

Well it's a toasted sandwich maker! I bought it as I wanted removable plates for ease of cleaning. I gave it 3 stars as it's very small. I cut off all four sides of the bread and still it didn't really fit.
