This is smaller than I expected, which is good. There’s no noise like others described, I wonder if it’s a material or installation issue others are having. Installation was easy. We’re using it on the front door, so it’s heavier, it either closes it completely or at least brings the door back partially to the latch, which prevents pets from escaping. We have a sensor on the door so we’d get an alert if it isn’t latched after a minute. So having this installed to prevent the door from being wide open is perfect for us. It gives us enough time to get someone else to close the door fully if needed. Also it’s a good price at 15.99

I have had this door closer for about 2 to 3 weeks now. I wanted to give time for an honest opinion. I had a string closer previously they worked but got broke when the door was open to wide so I knew I needed something more sturdy. This was easy and quick to install. I have dogs that know how to open the door on their own, but don't know how to close the door so this was a must. It does have a noise but unless u are sensitive to it, it doesn't bother you. It's easy to install and works great

This door closer couldn't be simpler to install and it works well (with a couple of tweaks) I used the provided screws to mount the spring unit to the door frame but used a 3M Command Strip for the door guard strip (rather than drill holes in the door. Adjusting the tension might take a try or two, I found the very first stop to work fine for my hollow core interior door. A couple of things you might want to consider. 1. This is just a simple spring mechanism and isn't terribly consistent. Whether the door latches by slamming, closing easily with a click or doesn't latch at all depends largely on where the door starts fully open or just halfway. 2. Make adjustments by adding small anti slam pads such as these https://amzn.to/46iwlsc where the outer edge of the door contacts the frame. This takes a little experimentation. 3. The spring makes a noise as most springs do but you can eliminate it by spraying a little bit of silicone lube into the two gaps where the center of the spring unit pivots. Spray, work it in a little and the next day it'll be silent. With the proper adjustment and the anti slam pads you should have a door that closes easily and (almost) noiselessly with a soft thunk instead of a slam.

I'm so glad I found this. Every time our kids have friends over and they're upstairs, they're all walking by and looking into our bedroom and it makes me feel like I don't have any privacy when I'm in there. Even if I shut the door, my husband or kids are coming in and out and they don't close the door. We installed this door closer and it works perfect. It was simple to install and you can adjust it so that it closes the door lighter or harder. It doesn't have the squeak that others have reported in their reviews. We don't hear it at all when our door closes. I'm really glad to have this and it has greatly reduced my stress and increased my privacy. Great value for the money spent.

This closes all my doors that I want closed. I was so sick of my kids leaving the back door and shed door open. This works perfectly to keep them shut. You can adjust the tension for heavier or lighter doors.

If you're looking to buy this for safety purchases do not waste your money. I bought this because of my autistic son and likelihood of eloping if the door happens to get left open. Instalation wasn't difficult, instructions were clear, however it does not push hard enough to cause the door to latch therefore useless. I tried the top of door, bottom of door, and middle of door. In none of these positions did it close door hard enough to latch. And yes, I adjusted tension multiple times, to the point it was groaning under the pressure and it still did not latch my door. I'm also going to add it is not a heavy door, there are no issues opening or closing prior to trying to install the door closer. I'm not sure if maybe I need 2 of them? One on top and one on bottom? Either way, I won't purchase more of this brand.

I installed it this morning. I wound it as tight as I possibly could, because I'm trying to keep the cats out of my closet (or as they like to call it, the litter-less litter box). I want it securely shut, always. Which means it's quite loud when I open the door. You can hear the spring complaining. But if it lasts, it'll be worth it. I did not screw the door piece into the door. I just attached it with command mounting strips. The pressure from the wand should help hold it there. I'll update if I have to go back and screw it in.

Good it works and closes the door but be careful if you have small kids my son trapped his finger in the door within about 2 hours of me installing it...

I needed to have an automatic closer for my heavy wooden/metal gate. However my gate has 90 degree hinges, and the usual closers can't work around. I fitted two of these and they work perfectly. Hopefully they will last a long time

Does not have the strength to fully close the light weight hollow interior door even though I had maxed out the spring force adjustment, although this was sufficient for the purpose I needed. I also installed the closer at the same level as the door handle, with the thought it will more evenly apply the closing force across the door to help it close reliably compare to mounting the closer at the top of the door. I was looking for the door closer that is mounted internally in the door jam as used with the heavier metal fire-rated door from the garage to the house, however it is more expensive and more involved to install, so this lower cost and easier to install door closer fits the need of this application.
