These are excellent tongs! Well made and solid. Will surely last a very long time. Only thing preventing a 5-star review is that there's no ring or locking mechanism to keep them closed when not in use, making storage a bit of a pain. Otherwise, nearly perfect. Def recommend.

As you can see in my picture, the handles are just a folded over piece of flat metal that creates an open channel all the way from the clamshells to the end where the spring is. I was using these tongs to take out some food from a pot of hot oil. As I tilted the tongs slightly past the horizontal, hot oil from the clamshell end ran up the channel in the handle and out the end where the spring, burning my hand. Also, it's next to impossible to properly clean the channels in the handle. Maybe I'll try and get my money back but I've already used them. Don't buy these tongs.
