Seems very fresh and has a pungent smell from the bag. That being said it tastes very mild, and while I haven't used it as a food dye I can see it being good for that since the color is strong. The pictures show after 1 minute of hot steeping and then a few minutes of hot steeping of about a dozen flowers in 200ml of water or so. The color changing factor (going from blue to purple when lemon is added) works well and is fun for kids. Not very resealable... it came with a clip but that didn't work at all so I ended up using my own. Overall great value and I would buy again.

This was my first time purchasing and using butterfly pea flower and I have to say that this brand is by far the best! Affordable, great source and the packaging is amazing. I love the resealable bag! The herb smells amazing the the color blue / purple is very rich! Im saddend that this is no longer avaliable.

I liked the tea as I made it with lemon and honey. We will see how it does for weight loss and keeping bowels cleared. It also would work well to use as a dye or in baked or cooked goods to give a beautiful hue and color. It doesn’t seem to have a lot of taste to it, I will try it bulk itaelf next time and see.👍👍👍👍👍

I'll admit, I bought these just for the gorgeous blue color all the pictures show, and how it turns purple and pink as the pH goes down; thinking about using it to color various foods, etc. And the color really is just as bright and blue as the pictures show. But somewhat to my surprise, within a day or two I was drinking it on its own merits as a tea. The flavor grows on you, but it's also mild enough that you *can* color other things without messing up their flavors too much. But it's pleasant tea even without the pretty colors.
