A well designed valve
I needed a 3 position diverter valve for a lawn irrigation project that uses the water from my basement sump pump to water my lawn. I had to add a second outlet for my sump pump in my basement so it could fill a holding tank. The Jandy valve selects where the water goes: out to the ditch or, up to the tank. And that was very important! Whatever position this valve is in, water can be pumped out of my basement! It cannot be turned to a closed position. I think most people use this valve for pool water systems and that's probably what it was designed for. But, it was exactly what I needed for my project so I took a chance. The valve inlet side can be re-configured to whichever port you choose, just disassemble the valve and rotate it into the desired position and reassemble. There is a "CLOSED" indicator on the valve handle to clearly show which port is closed off. The instructions tell you to disassemble the valve before gluing anyway so its not an extra step. The only thing that confused me when I was ordering was what piping size was this valve? 1,1/2"? 2"? Were the ports different sizes? I couldn't tell from the description. But the piping sizes are clearly noted in the instructions and on the valve but for anyone curious it accepts a 1,1/2" sch40 PVC pipe on the inside diameter of any port and a 2" sch40 PVC pipe with a coupling mates to the outside diameter of any port. The sump water I'm using it with is fairly clean but it will get some mineral build up over time. If the internal seal fails I can get a rebuild kit for it and fix it in place without having to re-pipe everything. Its been installed for a few weeks and its working fine.

Great quality, simple operation
The valve is high quality, and also can be rebuilt later - if required - without having to remove pipes. The only negative comment is the handle's orientation and the embossed "off" marking. Ball valves traditionally are "open" or "on" when the handle is in line with the pipes, but this one is off by 90 degrees. I can see the "off" label as a carryover from their 3-port valves, but it is very inappropriate on this valve. This is not awful but is an inconvenience as a quick glance at the valve may lead you to think it is in the wrong position. Lever orientation and marking aside, this is a great valve.

Perfect for my application.
My pool’s old 3-way valve was a 33-year-old Jandy but a compact version that’s not a popular model and parts are not as readily available. All it really needed was a rebuild kit but I figured that after 33 years I should just byu a while new one. And, why not go with a Jandt again since the original one lasted all this time. The new one’s a perfect fit and works absolutely perfectly with not the slightest bit of water leakage out or air getting sucked in.

Love Them
We own a small family pool business and install several inground pools a year. Use these on every single one of my pools, usually for the lines going to the pump coming from the skimmer and the main drains. If I only have one or two return lines I will use these as well. If I have more than two return lines then I will typically make a manifold with ball valves. These Jandy valves work great

Expensive but good quality
i am not sure why a simple pool valve needs to cost this much but they are solidly built and functionally integral. I replaced all 4 Jandy valves this summer on my 15 year old pool. The valves had deteriorated in the Phoenix sun and were losing their structural integrity around the screw joints. All four are working perfectly and the PVC connections are accurate and perfectly aligned. Fully recommend this product.

Can't beat the price. Using for a grey-water bypass valve and this thing is tough as a tank.
