Raggtopp Premium Convertible Top Brush

Absolutely the best I have used. I replaced and upgraded the soft top on my S2000 several years ago, and it was not cheap... neither the soft top itself nor the labor. Despite my best efforts towards maintaining my car and garaging it most of the time, the top gets dirty and has to be cleaned beyond a regular hosing-down. This brush works like magic. It's extremely gentle and can be used to softly agitate and remove debris, dirt, and bird poops from your soft top like no one's business and without damaging your soft top. I am extremely picky about my cars and how they are cared for. It is very safe for the top and not a single bristle has fallen out of this thing, and I have used it for years. There is only ONE downside, and that is that the wooden handle is not water-resistant. Over the years, although I've been very careful with this thing, water has dripped down and caused the wooden handle to slowly crack and fissure. It is still usable, but unsightly. However, it took five years for this to happen... and guess what? I just went ahead and ordered a new one. Added bonus: made in the USA. I hope they never stop making this cleaning brush. Part of me almost wants to buy one as a backup—it's that good. I won't use anything else. If you love your car, just pay the extra and get the RaggTopp/Haartz brush. You won't regret it.

This review pertains to a twill convertible top - not vinyl. Recently bought a Jeep Wrangler 4-door with the twill soft top. I've never owned a soft top before, wasn't sure how to clean it at first but have been researching quite a bit. I considered using a soft bristled boat cleaning brush, which would be great on a long handle for reaching (Jeeps are tall) but while I was looking at them in the store I quickly noticed how badly they shed dust/lint/particles etc. I don't want that stuff getting all over the twill top! Then I looked at horsehair brushes which seem to be the standard brush for convertibles, yet everyone seems to complain about how the hairs end up all over their tops. What to do?!?!?! I eventually found this raggtopp brush on Amazon, and figured why not try it out. Yes it's a little pricey, but it is fantastic, worth every penny. My advice: get this brush. And get a good reputable cleaner made specifically for convertible tops. I chose the 303 brand cleaner, but there are many options to choose from out there. Rinse off the top thoroughly with clean water, then lightly spray the top, then brush with very little elbow grease. Go easy, in circular motions. Then give the top another thorough rinse until the soap disappears. If you go too heavy with the cleaner, you will be standing there forever trying to rinse it out of the twill. This brush does a fantastic job, is not too coarse, but just the right firmness to be effective yet gentle. And, no brush particles left all over the place. In fact, I haven't even seen a single strand come loose. I highly recommend this brush.

Have only used it once but it seems to work well. The bristles are soft enough as not to mark the top and leave scrape marks yet firm enough to get the job done. We don't usually have the top up that often so probably won't be using this brush that much. The bristles appear to be well seated and secure in the wood handle. This was the main reason why I purchased over other brushes. Although it is a bit on the pricey side, it does appear to be well made. I wanted a one-time purchase brush instead of having to purchase several over time. Oh yes, the brush is compact enough to be able to store in the trunk if wanted.

Nice and sturdy brush. Great to clean your convertible top with solid wood. One of the best I've seen on the market.

Brush has a great design. Easy to hold, great distribution of cleaning product. A bit pricey, but is worth it. Would recommend.
