I have a lot of dental issues. I build up tartar / plaque extremely quickly. I have tight teeth, including two spots with sharp edges that break floss even at the dentist's office. I have an implant that traps food under it. I have receding gums. I have sensitive teeth, including a front crown that's historically been painful to floss around. I've also had problems recently with stain accumulating between my teeth. So, for obvious reasons, I was hesitant to switch away from the floss I'd used for years, Glide. However, for environmental reasons, I decided to give this zero-waste, plastic-free floss a try. I'm very glad I did. This floss is better in every way. It's about the same thickness as Glide, but it's a little less waxy (though it's definitely not unwaxed). As a result, it does a great job of taking off both the tartar and the stains. It's comfortable between my tight teeth, even in the sensitive areas (much more so than Glide), and it almost never breaks or frays on the sharp edges where Glide broke literally every time. It cleans better in the looser spaces, too, such as under my implant. I usually had to floss 5-6 times in that area with Glide, and even then it sometimes missed things. With this floss, I only have to clean that area once or twice. On top of all that, it's gentler on my gums. I really don't know why, and I was skeptical of that claim when I saw it in other reviews, but somehow it is. As some other reviewers have mentioned, I find myself excited to floss now. I've been flossing for many years, but it was always a chore that I needed to complete, despite the mild pain and frustration it caused. Now, it's a pleasant experience that leaves my mouth feeling cleaner and healthier. On the environmental side, I love that there's no plastic anywhere in this. I feel good about that every time I look at the pretty container. I keep forgetting that it's compostable, so I keep tossing it in the trash and then digging it out again, but I'm sure I'll eventually adjust to that. Overall, this floss is perfect, and I'm now a lifelong convert!

Works great for people with tight contacts between their teeth, which is really hard to find in an eco-friendly PFA free floss!! Doesn’t shred. Nice and thin. Don’t taste the peppermint, but that’s fine with me. We’ll definitely re-buy again, worth the price.

I tend to get a lot of plaque between my teeth. Because this floss is black & plaque is white, I can see just how much plaque it's removing. It's very sturdy & it's very easy to get it between my teeth. I've used other flosses that I have a hard time getting in between my teeth. I've also used flosses that were hard to grip because they're so heavily waxed. That's not a problem with this brand. I bought the stainless steel container because I figured it'd be easy to clean. It is. And the hole in the top that the floss comes through is wide enough that it's not at all difficult to thread the floss through it. I LOVE that the floss itself is biodegradable & vegan & contains no plastic, the container is reusable, & there's no plastic anywhere in the packaging. Anything we can do to reduce the amount of plastic we use is a good thing. Recently I bought refills of the peppermint flavored floss & love it even more than the unflavored floss that came with the container. I plan to be a lifetime customer of this brand.

Nice product. A little tricky to use.

I seldom leave reviews, but this floss is fantastic! It is sturdy and thick. I have never experienced it fraying or snapping even with my very jagged molars. I also appreciate that minimal waste the product produces. I accidentally left my container at a hotel and it broke my heart- says a lot because it is floss- but will be repurchasing.

I’ve used it once. The gunk it got off my teeth was easily visible against the black floss and that was satisfying. I have tight teeth with food traps. This floss has more texture than Glide. I could feel “scrubbing” between my teeth. Sensory warning: you feel the floss texture. Moving it through tight spaces makes a pseudo-sound that some may find unpleasant. The Floss broke once on my first attempt at my trickiest tooth with a top-down approach to interdental space. Approaching the interdental space from the side was successful. The little black stainless steel container is easy to open and cuts the floss easily. The origin of this product is not in the listing. Box says, “responsibly made in China”.

I have no issues using in tight gaps between between teeth. This floss cleans better than normal floss and best of all is not plastic.

Trying to keep away from the toxins and flavors and chemicals that the big companies put on their floss. I've been using this floss for a week, and overall it has been good. The flavor is great. Feels clean and fresh. I'm hoping the charcoal has greater healing properties in those tight spaces under the gums, as I floss very thoroughly, and don't see any blood at all when I spit after flossing! Yeah it has broken in my mouth once, which is what happened sometimes with my other natural floss. So just don't use the same exact spot of floss for your entire mouth. Overall, the slide and comfort and durability are up to my standards for a healthy natural floss free of the other junk that is out there!

It is so cute ! I love the color of the container. Super sturdy .I don’t have to worry about dropping and break it . I don’t have problem with the thread breaking . Used for 4 days , no breaking at all. Highly recommended this !

This charcoal dental floss is the best I’ve ever used. It’s vegan, comes in a sturdy metal case, and works incredibly well. Yes, the price is a bit on the high side, but the case makes it worth it. It’s compact, easy to carry anywhere, and unlike glass containers I’ve used before (which have broken more than once), this metal case is durable and reliable. The floss itself has the perfect texture to clean my teeth efficiently, far better than any other floss I’ve tried. I don’t use any other now – this is my go-to dental floss.
