Q: What is the expiration date for this because the picture shows September of 2020

The expiration dates vary as they are continually being produced. The main image is obviously from an older photo but we cannot change photos every time there is a new batch. Rest assured you will not receive an expired product.

Q: Any idea how long the shelf life is unopened?

opened and not refrigerated is about 4 days Refrigerated 7-12 days, I have a food vacuum sealer and break it down to 1 pound bags and it will keep for up to 4 months. there are very little preservatives in it so it will not last long in open air.

Q: What is kippered beef.

Kippered meat is a meat that has been cleaned, salted, and smoked(or dryed in some other way). It says nothing about the type of meat or the quality of it.

Q: How long would this keep in the refrigerator after being opened?

Once opened I would advise portioning out and storing in resealed vacuum bags, and/or freezing what will not be consumed within one week. Typically refrigerated product will keep longer than seven days, but it’s best to freeze unused portions to prolong freshness.
