This diffuser roll is exactly what I needed to finish off my LED lighting install — and the results are even better than I expected (see pics). Yes and no. This does not diffuse the light where you won't see the dots. It does diffuse it slightly. Now if you give it distance from the strips it will help significantly. I ended up using a ton of silicone as they were buried in a gap. So it worked like that. But no this is not the solution to your problem if you are trying to totally diffuse the dots. The picture should show you what I'm talking about. This is without silicone. In theory you can use a translucent chaulk which will help further defuse.... The pictures led strips that are about 5/16 deep inside a piece of melamine. You can see at this dept its actually defusing decently. I didn't buy these to use with their housing. Just bought it as a cover. But yes I do recommend this for this particular application. Just reminder if you need it to defuse... Give it dept and the dots will disappear.
