Superbly Done!!!
Just a quick summary, While listening to “【Tanaka Music Hall】Tanaka Hime - Skylarks (Acoustic)” keeping all switches down(0), it’s a nice U shape, bass has wonderful impact, sub-bass is enough for me to be pleased with, mids come out, vocals and the upper treble is very airy, giving it a nice huge stage to get lost in. But I felt the vocals on this song could get a little up there, not sibilant, but a kinda harshness some might perceive, when I switched the B to (1), Mid to (1) and left treble at 0 still, it smoothed everything out real well, lowering the treble and bringing a nice warmness to it all, and no harshness was there on this track, but it was smooth, bass didn’t change, vocals were superb, instrument detail was still there but a little less sparkly in the treble region and when I brought down the bass switch to (0), left treble still @ (0), and kept mids at (1), it kept the vocals at about the same spot while still keeping a sparkle without the harshness, riding the line you could say, and bass still the same throughout the testing, this is where I found my liking for this set. I love them for EDM, MMD, K-Pop, Pop, Chinese Folk, R&B and Nightcore. Stage is very wide, with lots of detail and layering. Build wise, they’re almost identical to the BGVP NS9, but with venting, they fit perfect for my ears, nice and snugly. Cord is also very nice. I’m using the 4.4mm plug on them hooked up to an iFi Zen dac/amp with truebass turned on, SpinFit CP100 eartips, and I can’t say enough of how impressed I am with them. Overall, I prefer these to the FD5’s, and I enjoy them on the same level as the FH3’s, I think these have more detail, a hint brighter and with a slightly larger stage and the FH3’s are slightly more intimate than these and have a heavier hitting bass, a touch warmer, but it would be hard for me to pick one over the other, they just have slightly different tunings and both are wonderful. >>> - Several months later, I'm still enjoying them, the sparkly highs, the textured bass is wonderful, and then the crispy mids, instrument detail just pops at you, though clear & clean with no graininess, and let us not forget the vocals, that sit a little closer to you for a intimate experience- I really enjoy them! Mainly use these for MMD, EDM, Nightcore and watching Anime.

Ditch the filters for a wild ride!
Much has been said about the bass heavy/missing treble of these IEMs. I gotta say, I love the tightly controlled, deep bass, but even with the default “treble” filter on, highs are not as sparkling as it needs to top all that richness. The other filters (“balanced” and “bass”) are even worse in that regard. But while I was try8ng out all the filters and tips, I accidentally put a tips on with no filter at all and the result was… WILD! The highs were suddenly unleashed and chaotic in a super fun way, and the separation and layers became three dimensional! My only issue at this point was tip security, as the filters have a ridge that provide a grip for the ear tips. I took the useless “balanced” filter and poked the filter and mesh out with a tiny screwdriver and stuck it back on naked. PRESTO! I suddenly had cool clear sparkling highs, thumping bass, and clear defined mids, mixed with a bit of chaos that makes listening to these fun and surprising. You get a lot of great drivers capable of some amazing output for not a lot of money with these, but FiiO has engineered them into boring oblivion. Making that one change completely unmoored their tuning in the best way. I highly recommend taking the leap with your least favorite of the supplied filters. You’ll never miss it, and what you gain is magic!

These are killer IEMs
These are one of the best IEMs I own or have tried and I have a dozen different models. I was concerned about harshness with these drivers so I burned them in for 200 hours first per FiiO recommendations before any serious listening. They are efficient and don't require a lot of power to run. I listen to them on my FiiO X7 MKII and newer Cayin N3PRO and they sound great on all kinds of music. They are well balanced (to my ear) with smooth highs, clear and forward voices and midrange and clear, tight and impressive bass down to lower bass. They are NOT bass heavy for you bass fans but when there is bass in the music it is tight, well defined and will go deep. The bass impact and power is impressive but only when it's in the music. They are very revealing and make older, less dynamic music sound more lively and newer HD music sound fantastic. I do recommend these if listening to music is a primary activity for you and not just for background...

Despite crinacles review...
These are like Sony MDR-Z7 in an IEM, bass is strong and deep. Its sort of different sounding, treble could be better, not top tier but still decent. Package is nice, cable is beautiful.

Comfortable
I love these ear buds. They fit in my ears nicely and doesn't cause any soreness after wearing them for a while. I do like that you can use the little switches to modify how you wan it to sound. They are very clear and definitely bassy when having the correct switches turned on. The cord is pretty long and durable I haven't had any issues.

Check the tips
Make sure you try multiple tips. These perform really well when they are properly fitted.

Not the best for the $$$
For almost $300, the quality is actually great, they SOUND AMAZING, the case is on a whole different level, a custom case is awesome, here’s where I don’t like them, the cord is trash, they don’t stay in your ears very well at all and fit terrible, falling out all the time, so, for almost $300 beans?? Not very good value for money, best part about them is the case.

Great High-end audio from FiiO
This has a more flat audio, so people who enjoy edm, pop, or bass-oriented genres might not particularly like this one. Still it has great sound quality and the clarity on details is significant. Casing & design are nice too, it's definitely nicer & more durable than FH3. Size looks like it'll be uncomfortable to shove it in your ears but it's pretty good. Definitely well worth the price, pick it up if you want a flat EQ high-end earbuds economically
