Is the white & gold pillow a true white or off white?

I can't answer for this color as I bought the light blue but the quality is very good and I love the pillow cover. It's well worth the price. Hope you get the answer you're looking for.

Would this pillow be appropriate for a bathroom chair?

I'm not sure if you mean to use it has a decorative pillow on a chair or as a cushion to sit on. I have my 18x18 on the bed. I haven't had to wash it yet, but the instructions say the cover can be machine washed. I'll probably hand wash when the time comes. It's a beautiful pillow. It's well made. This is just the cover so how thick and soft the pillow is will depend on what type of pillow insert you choose. If you have a similar size decorative pillow and it works in the bathroom I don't know why this wouldn't too. I'm just not sure how you plan on using it.
