Awesome Earpads
I purchased the brown color and these have wider openings than the stock pads. I used to feel the housing against my ears with the stock pads but these must be thicker because i no longer feel them. Very comfortable. Installation wasn't too difficult maybe 5-10 minutes. Snapping them back into place was probably the most difficult part. I feel that many of the negative reviews may be due to incorrect installation. There is very clearly a bottom portion with a seam and a thicker backside to the cushions. The left and right side are not interchangeable. I recommend looking closely to figure out which is which prior to installing.

Happy with the product.
These replacement pads took a little bit of effort to install but have worked well for over a year extending the life of my SONY earphones. Would recommend if your ear pads need to be replaced.

Renew my old buds
Is very very hard to change the foam but is quite better than buy a new pair of buds.Very good quality

An affordable replacement for OEM earpads
I'm very happy I found these. The earpads on my Sony MDR-1A headphones eventually fell apart and I was looking for affordable replacement pads. I don't think these are quite as soft as the original pads, but I'd say they're pretty close. Installation was slightly challenging, but that's Sony's fault for how they designed the headphones. In the end, these replacement pads brought new life to my headphones that were in otherwise perfect condition. I would definitely buy them again.

They fit perfectly, no adjustments needed.
I've had my MDR-1DAC Headphones for over three years at this point, everything but the ear pads were like new. Official Sony replacement pads are $50 A PIECE, meaning $100 for a full replacement not including shipping. I didn't think I could find an alternative but a quick google search lead me here.Price: Good- great compared to the Sony replacement pads.Installation: Felt like I was gonna break my headphones at first but it's actually really easy. 15 min tops. I did have to look up a video online (by the same company who made these).Comfort: Pretty stiff, not entirely a fan of this but I'm sure they'll get better with use. Not as soft as originals but very close.Overall: They fit, got here quick, and saved me literally over $75. Hopefully they last even a fraction of the original pads.

Not a great pair of replacements for a Sony MDR-1A!
I just received these, today. So, I opened the pack and removed one of the old headset pads (the left first.) I checked the placement of the holes of the new pad with the old. After removing the retainer ring out of the old pad and tried placing it in the new one. I found out that the ring did not fit. In fact, it was larger than the new pads. I checked to make sure I had the left pad instead of the right; Low and behold, both new pads had black on the insides of the sleeves. (I had watched a video on how these pads are installed, prior to receiving them, and showed the inner linings of the left sleeve was black while the right had red. In other words, they sent me two left pads???) So, I tried to do my best to fit the left one on the left ring without ripping the sleeve and finally got it on and had the dickens of a time trying to snap it on the left speaker. I had the same trouble for the right side. So the pads are on and I tried the headset on and played a couple of tunes. Well, the new pads were not as plush as the old ones were and the sound from the headset sounded more tinny. (The old pads, even though damaged, still gave a more full smooth bass sound and nice smooth treble.)All in all, I do not recommend these pads. Try another set of pads that may be more easier and/or comfortable and will hold the sound better. I will keep these till they ware out, but I will not be purchasing a pair of these again! The only good thing was the little tool that came with the pair. It will come in handy when I purchase a pair of headset pads from another company.

Installation had issues but in the end, works okay.
These are not built to the higher standards of the original Sony units, which are no longer available. However, they work versus not having a better replacement build. The alignment slots/holes were not punched as accurately as my Sony pads and required a LOT of fiddling to get them installed properly. But in the end, worked.

Great replacement for MDR-1ABT
Solid replacement for MDR-1ABT. There are notches in the backing to attach to the MDR-1A, so when you're using them as a replacement for the MDR-1ABT, some of these notches are visible from the sides. Is minor and hardly noticeable, so no deduction for stars. The foam is higher quality than the original MDR-1ABT foam, which is thin and inconsistent (the left original pad was thinner than the right original pad). These pads are cut with precision and are even on both sides. They also look more "professional" and not as "mashed up" as the original MDR-1ABT earpads.Sound-wise, they IMPROVE the overall sound. Bass is tighter & less muddy, while the highs are more detailed and "airy". Overall soundstage is improved because the pads hold your ears a bit further from the drivers, vs. the original which were quite thin and pressed your ears up against the driver.
