Perfect for 1 person probably even 2.
Did exactly what I was hoping it would do. Unfortunately moved back to a city recently and could not have my reverse osmosis system hooked up and realized after a year that my zero water filter was a complete fail since something in there filters causes a mold stink to exist and way before its stopped filtering and read many reports of people getting sick which I cant be sure that's what caused it but the stink and the fact it's all plastic and not BPA free even which prob doesnt mean much anyway but it still bothered me . Anyway the scout although not very heavy duty still does the job good enough and being able to put it away so easily or take it with me anyplace is great. Only issue is you have to be careful with the filters. They can snap off if your to ruff with it and you need to check the seal after tightening the nut cuz I found that a tiny bit of water is able to run down the threads and drip into the lower container. Easily fixed with some pipefitters tape which a role will last you a few years since you only change a filter every few months. Minor issue although annoying for the price point it's worth it to me. Also customer service through this seller is outstanding they are ontop of things so nothing to fear when dealing with them if you have any issues.

Great tasting water, design flaw not good for travel.
I have a 3.5 gallon Big home unit. Best purchase decision. Gives me piece of mind. I needed something for travel so I bought this Scoutt. The filter cracked apart in transit somewhere somehow. It's quite fragile. I had it wrapped in a terry cloth hand towel. Even though I hand carried it everywhere, it still broke. Using this in the airport was clunky. The water yield is too slow.Disappointed.I can't return because it's passed the purchase grace period by 3 days. Now I have a plastic thing that's useless that I paid $75- for. What else is possible that's a win win?I tried to phone several times. Phone tag. *Their team was very kind when they helped me with my 3.5 gallon Big+.

This is a disgrace! More than highly disappointed!
I'm extremely disappointed in this product!I have their water pitcher which I really like. My only complaint with the water pitcher is that it's very hard to get the cover off of it but this supposed travel Scout is a horrible setup. It's cheap plastic and not a good design. And even on the video when they show you can pack it up to travel the cover doesn't go back on it because you can't leave the filter attached with the way the nut and screw are higher. The plastic is a recyclable number five which is a better plastic but they could have used stainless steel with ceramic inside to avoid more contaminants. And the design is ridiculous.I thought this was going to be a thermos style thing where they could actually drink right out of it but when you filter the water, the lower Reservoir doesn't even have an easy way to pour out it's just like a big can that you have to dump out.I bought it for a friend who is dying of cancer. He is in the hospital and I wanted him to have something there to help minimize his contaminant intake. I don't have time to get something else and I was very pleased with the water filtering capabilities of my ProPur pitcher. This is a huge disappointment. I hate even bringing it to him. He's going to think I spent $5 on this thing and not have a clue how expensive this POS really is.I don't even know if he will use it and if he does he'll probably use it one time and it'll go in the trash so I really wasted my time and investment on this.

Better tasting water
Easy and quick. I bought it to filter the water in my apartment and for emergency use. I live downstream of a former superfund site and was not exactly feeling safe drinking the city water. The water coming out of the filter tastes great. And I had seen some water testing sites on YouTube that recommended it. I'm not disappointed. I might end up getting a larger version in the future.

Filter is not passing water and way to expensive. Only filtered water for 4 weeks or so.
Filter clogging not passing water through. Only 4 weeks of use. Filter replacement too expensive.

Black plastic for clean water? What was your design team thinking?
The shape has improved in how the containers easily fit into each other for travel but I wish it was made of of Stainless Steel how the old traveler Propur was. The plastic is neither appealing nor comforting, it just doesn’t feel clean or safe, black plastic for clean water? What was your design team thinking?

This is the worst filter I have ever gotten.
I have a propur gravity filter that I bought years ago. The body is fine but it's getting harder to find quality filters. I bought this, not needing the container, because it was the only filter that will fit that I could afford on my fixed income.I have had to scrub this filter pretty much everytime I fill the top with water, sometimes more than once.I realize that if it filters through slower it's doing a good job but I am having trouble getting enough filtered water for what I need in a day. It's ending up being more work than what it's worth.I would not recommend this filter for anyone, unless I just got a bad one.
