Ultra Fine Vitamin C Powder, 100% Pure Ascorbic Acid, Non-GMO, Cosmetic-Grade, Dissolves Instantly for DIY Serums, creams, and toners

I use vitamin c powder to make my own cosmetic serums. Vitamin C is pretty much the best thing you can do for your skin, it increases collagen, reduces wrinkles and makes it look younger and brighter. Most vitamin c powders come in granular form which is really difficult to dissolve in water. Even most of the vitamin c powders that are marketed for cosmetic use are too grainy for proper absorption. This vitamin c powder really is an ultra fine powder. It absorbs instantly when mixed with water and creates facial serums that are smooth and effective. I used this in conjunction with the Bos Essentials hyaluronic acid powder in a recipe that I found on that listing which I am copying here: 1 tbsp Bos Essentials vitamin c powder 4 tbsp water A pinch of baking soda (optional – to raise the PH) 1-2 drops ferulic acid powder that has been dissolved in an alcohol base (I use vodka) (optional but good to help stabilize vitamin c) A small squirt of glycerin (optional) ½ tsp Bos Essentials hyaluronic acid powder What you do is you add the vitamin c powder to the water, then you add the ferulic acid powder paste and the glycerin. When all of these ingredients are fully incorporated, add the hyaluronic acid powder, shake it and put it in the refrigerator overnight to gel (hyaluronic acid will make the mixture grainy at first which is why you add it last). And voila! A cheap, effective anti-aging serum that’s better than anything you can buy at the store. This makes about a 10% vitamin c solution so feel free to add more vitamin c as your skin builds up tolerance to it. Attached are a few pictures so you can see the finished product.

I bought this 7 times this is the only vitamin C that works . Very fine granules and wont leave any residue on skin and dissolves easily. However, this is very pricey compare to other brands and doesn't come in large amount too. I would also like to add my experience of trying L-ascorbic acid from Ressurection Beauty , the one is a big white plastic jar. I tried it cause I wanted to replace this brand . Ressurection Beauty ascorbic acid comes in large amount and cheaper but I went back to this brand, Boss Essentials! Resurrection Beauty ascorbic acid burnt my skin, made my skin very itchy with red patches and, very powdery too and will not dissolve completely in hot water so I asked for a refund. So now I'm back to Boss Essentials, this is the best! Beware seller, the other brand I mentioned will hurt your skin! Yes,! ,cheap and plenty but there are consequences especially if you have sentive skin...I do not have any issues using and buying this vitamin C except for it price!

Pro: you can save money Cons: 1.to save money by making diy serum, you have to get the whole set to start. Vit c powder+ ferulic acid powder+ HA powder+ optional vitamin e oil. That will cost 50-80 bucks. HA powder is a must (trust me I made my first batch w/o HA powder and it was so runny), vitamin e oil and ferulic acid powder are optional but since it is DIY, I think I’d better add those boosters to raise the maximum DIY power. 3. Short shelf life. It is recommended to use the diy serum within 2 weeks. Can you really use all 2oz serum in 2 weeks? Well I can’t even though I use it for my body too. If you are using it for only face, make a smaller portion like 1 oz or so. Back to money saving story, if you can’t use all the serum and have to make it every 2 weeks, is it really money saving as you thought? 2. I have experience with 20% vitamin c serum but Bos DIY version of 20% stings!!! I went down to 10% but it still gives me those tingling sensation, somewhat tolerable though. If you get a scratch or acne, this is not for you. Also stings on eyes as well. 3. Sour on lips. You can taste sour vitamin c on lips. 4. Sticky. I use it for my face and body, but super sticky that you might want to use less HA powder…? But then it would be runny. Anyway, some light non-oily body lotion would be helpful. I think I will continue to use it if this really works, because I already got what I needed, but do your math and read reviews and think about other facts than money saving.

I think it’s great that people use this to create their own serums. But, I would like to point out that the ascorbic acid is most stable in it’s powdered form. The moment it is exposed to water or light, it begins to oxidize. Homemade serums also don’t last long. I don’t have a mini serum/makeup fridge and to be honest, I don’t want to walk out to my kitchen fridge every time I do my morning skincare routine. So I actually put a small amount of this vitamin C powder in my palm, mix with one of the serums I already use or drops of filtered water, and apply directly to my face! It works great and dissolves instantly. I don’t know if this would work well for those with sensitive skin (try it on the inside of your elbow to test first), but it works great for me and I know I’m getting the most potent form and the most benefit each time I use it!

I've been using this for 3 weeks, yesterday when i looked in the mirror, i did i double take... IT'S WORKING, IT'S WORKING! Whenever i buy new products I'm optimistic at first, then after several weeks and no changes, I'm left disappointed. I'm so happy that I finally get the excitement of something actually working! My dull skin is brightening, sun spots are starting to disappear, tighter, smoother skin, even the hallows under my eyes seem to be thickening up. I always drop out too much, so I also use all over my hands, they are looking much younger. And I use on my neck and decollete, skin is much brighter and smoother. Recipe: *1 tablespoon vitamin c powder *4 tablespoons water *A few small drops of ferulic acid powder dissolved in an alcohol base. This is optional and will help stabilize the vitamin c and add additional antioxidant properties. *A small squirt of glycerin *½ tsp hyaluronic acid powder Add the vitamin c, ferulic acid and glycerin to the water first and once everything else is dissolved, add the hyaluronic acid powder. This will make about a 10% vitamin c solution. It will chunk up at first. You must leave it in the fridge overnight to disolve and settle. I mix my serum in a small plastic container, then after it settles over night in the fridge, i transfer everything into an old, cleaned out, glass serum bottle with a dropper. I don't want to keep it in the plastic container and dip my fingers in and contaminate the serum. I leave my bottle in the fridge after every use. Based off the reciped I'm using, it makes about 2 weeks worth of serum when using a generous amount twice a day. I wear the serum alone during the day and a retinol moisture on top at night. This stuff is amazing! I'm so excited to see more improvement! Photos are from day one and after 3 weeks.

After using this for about 3 weeks my skin is much brighter and my age spots are fading.

You get a lot of Vit C powder for the container, so worth the value. It is very finely milled so make sure you don't sneeze on it or inhale too much. I use it for serums daily.

I feel a bit silly writing a review for a beauty product that I've only used for a few days but I made the serum everyone's talking about (CEF serum) with the three products here (when you scroll down and it says, "buy all three") and call me crazy but I think it's really making a difference! I saw my mom today (when I gave her the one I made for her, that SHE requested) and I told her when we were in the bathroom together while shopping, "I'm sure it's just wishful thinking but I really do think this serum is making my skin more radiant!" Now, you don't know my mom, so you couldn't possibly understand how shocked I was when she said, "I think so, too!" I almost fell over! My mom is NOT a fan of ANY of my homemade concoctions! She has no use for my essential oils or any of the 20+ toiletries I regularly make with them (not even my hair-growth serum and I've grown my hair almost twice the thickness and over 10 inches in length in less than 7 months!). She IS impressed with this! Even my 22 yr old daughter wanted some (and she sees me every day)! I have severe acne scars, moderate-to-severe rosacea, have been a heavy drinker for 15 years, have been a heavy smoker for 25+ years, and I swear- I'm starting to get my radiance back! I haven't seen any improvement in the scars yet but it's only been THREE days! My huge pores are noticeably smaller, my skin is starting to take on a healthy glow, and if I'm not mistaken, I surely feel that my complexion is starting to even out a bit! I'll update later when I've used it for a while but so far I'm VERY impressed! I will add a couple of notes that I haven't seen in the reviews of the CEF serum, though (and none I saw put any Vitamin E in theirs anyway so technically not CEF [Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Ferulic Acid]). (1) When I made the first one for myself, I mixed the Ferulic Acid (with 91% rubbing alcohol, not vodka) and added it to the bowl before adding a pinch of baking soda. When I mixed it for my mom and daughter, though, I mixed the Ferulic Acid and added it to the bottle, not the bowl I was using to mix everything else, and the baking soda caused a fizzing reaction. I hope that doesn't mean the Vit. C was completely eradicated by the reaction but in any case, I would avoid that by mixing and adding the Ferulic Acid to the mixture before adding any baking soda. (2) No one warned me that Hyaluronic Acid would gel up IMMEDIATELY, making it practically impossible to get the mixture into the bottle. I found it easiest to add the mixture to the bottle first, THEN, with a COMPLETELY dried funnel, add the Hyaluronic Acid last and shake it like a crazy person. Funny thing happened when I did it that way too, though; every time I took my finger off the top of the bottle, it spewed a ton of air and a little spray of the mixture a few times. I can't help but wonder how others are doing this- mixing it first and getting it into the bottle, or adding it later without exploding bottles. If you DO decide to add it last after the mixture is in the bottle, please DON'T put the lid on right away before shaking it! I imagine after a few shakes there would be quite a bit of pressure built up in there! I don't know if refrigerating the mixture is necessary (I read somewhere it was for one of the ingredients but I can't remember which or why now, I think to help the Hyaluronic Acid to gel) so I put them in the refrigerator overnight. All of mine gelled well, even though I only used about half the Hyaluronic Acid on the second two batches because mine is a bit tacky when I first apply it. I'm okay with that bc I don't wear makeup very often but my daughter preferred hers to be a bit less thick so she could apply moisturizer and makeup sooner without waiting for it to dry.
