Up front, I have to say there is basically no packaging inside the box. The tank is just free to roll around and get beat up. The main thing to happen to my tank is the handle got bent up. I was able to bend it back into a reasonable shape, but still very disappointing that the shipper couldn't be bothered to be even close to packaging this propane tank right. Other than this, and I am not the only one to get bitten by this, it is a nice tank. It has a float based gauge. If you want to have a gauge of how much propane is left in your tank, you really need something like this as pressure based gauges are basically useless beyond reading a higher reading on hot days and a lower reading on cold days. You want to know fuel capacity, not how hot or cold it is in the tank. I also picked up a plastic base stand to help with stability of the tank. Don't want to risk it getting knocked over for some reason. 30 lbs of capacity puts it in the ~54 lbs range when full, so still perfectly lug-able for most people.

I bought four of these with the gauge already installed. They will be used when power is out to run a generator. The tanks arrived undamaged and they were filled without incident. So me people have described issues of damage or operation - these four arrived in perfect condition and have been through one filling process. They look to be well-made, value for the money is up to the buyer (I liked having the gauge, so used tanks well out) and the size makes it easy for me to use them for the intended purpose.

I ordered two identical 30 lb Flame King tanks. The first filled without issue, but I had to wait a couple of weeks before attempting to fill the second. Unfortunately, that tank turned out to be defective. I contacted Flame King and explained the problem, including the steps the filling company had taken. They offered several excellent suggestions to resolve the issue and even sent a replacement valve. However, due to DOT regulations, I was unable to find a local business willing to install it. I followed up with Flame King, and they promptly sent me a brand new replacement tank. Their customer service was outstanding — responsive, professional, and far beyond what I expected.
