Excellent, well made product. Recommended.
I purchased this product to balance the rear wheel of my BMW k1200LT motorcycle. This particular wheel design is a rear wheel swing arm design and I had to slightly modify this balancer to accommodate that - but I also purchased this balancer fully expecting to have to do a modification due to this design. If you're wheels are using an axle, you're probably good to go with this straight out of the box. The assembly instructions were not all that helpful but anyone can figure out how to put this balancer together. It is extremely simple and it is well made. Basically, just insert the four feet and screw in the level and the four small balance wheels that the bar rides on and you're done. You will need to level it first by adjusting the feet so the level bubble sits perfectly in the middle of the circle. Very easy to do. It comes with two small "O-rings" that slide on the balance bar - not sure what those are for and they do not affect the functionality of the wheel balancer. As for balancing your wheel, first, you will need some wheel balance weights that are also available (purchased separately) on Amazon. Once you have those, there are several good videos available on the internet on how to balance your wheel. I had no issues with balancing - I'm not sure that I balanced my rear wheel perfectly - it is very close at any rate and at speeds of up to 115mph, I did not detect any wheel shaking. For my use, this is a perfect solution and a big cost saving. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to balance their own wheels at home instead of schlepping them down to the dealership. This balancer will literally pay for itself on the next use.

Inexpensive, but works well.
I did my first manual tire change for my Honda GL1800 back tire and used this tool to balance the wheel. I did get a couple good YouTube tips on this process for temporary mounting the weights with tape (and leaving all original weights on to start - which I did have to remove). The other good tip was to mount one cone, then the tire, then stand the whole thing on the rod to force the tire onto the cone and THEN mount the second cone. This really helps for a tight connection between wheel and cones with no slop. The bearings and balancing rod rotate very smoothly and made the job an easy one. The only negative is the adjustable feet to level the whole unit. The milling of the threads on the nuts welded to the frame, or the threads of the leveling feet themselves (or both) are not very good tolerances at all - a fair amount of slop after installing. Each leg has a locking nut which pretty much eliminates the slop so all was well for the balancing process, but the quality of the threads was lacking. This is a basic unit with no "run out" measuring rods or any other accessories. It is a simple balance tool and does that job well. Overall this worked fine for balancing my tire and it was a quick, smooth process.

Not bad for the money but probably could of made one now that I saw it.
I'll be saving some money now that I can do my own replacement and balance on my tires.

Simple to assemble. Well built. Great results.
Simple. Well built. Easy to assemble. Set it up properly (level it w adjustable feet) and you will have great results. I saw a YouTube video and the guy said that people in bike pits for super bikes use this simple method to balance their wheels. My Harley rear wheel is perfect after getting the hang of how to use the balancer.

Almost Great but misses the mark
UPDATE: I reached out to the vendor about the broken level and they offered a partial refund in order to purchase a replacement since they did not have a replacement level available to send me. Kudos to the vendor for the quick response and adjustment. Hopefully they will adjust their packing to avoid this issue for others. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Every time I need to put new skin on my bike, I have to drop almost another $100 over the cost of the tires. Mounting and balancing is more expensive than car tires now. After doing some research, I decided it was time to do it myself. I bought the spoons and this balancer. Now to be fair - I have not actually changed a tire and balanced it yet - still too cold up here in the northeast for that and my garage is not heated. I got this as an X-mas gift to myself and finally pulled it out of the box to assemble. I typically do not rate items until I have had a chance to actually use them but, in this case, I thought there were a few reasons to review this product prior to use. Those involve the condition of the until when opened. Although there is no damage to the shipping box and all the metal parts were wrapped in some thin bubble wrap, the finish is damaged in a number of places. Not a showstopper for me and doesn't affect the function of the tool but be aware that this could be common. The reason for the lower score? A few things including: 1. The included hex wrench for assembly was a 2mm and the bolt requires a 5mm. So, if you don't happen to have the correct wrench you might be outta luck and running to the store. 2. The included bubble level was in a plastic bag and utterly disintegrated into a handful of plastic shards. It was not in bubble wrap and I'm sure destroyed during shipping. I will reach out to the seller and see if I can get a replacement level. It is these attention to detail items that set apart the best from the rest. Depending on the response from the vendor and the function after use, I will adjust my rating accordingly.

Easy assembly. Good instructions.
Tire balance stand appears to be sufficiently sturdy, and assembly is well explained and requires only a few simple steps. In order to insure squareness of side brackets requires attention to detail while assembling and tightening. Side brackets are square by my doing so. Otherwise they can be out of square, as there is some play in brackets and bolt holes that doesn't matter if due diligence to insure squareness is used during assembly. Well worth the purchase price.
