Q: How come o can get the same switch for 199.00 from ubiquiti?

I can confirm I just successfully purchased the US-8-150W (Unifi 8 port gigabit PoE + 2 SFP ports) direct from Ubiquiti for $199 + tax.

Q: Is the 8port 150w switch silent? tech spec says 35 dba but fanless. is it silent from a few feet away?

The 5 and 8 ports are fanless, 16 and above have fans. Just make sure you keep space all around the fanless ones for proper airflow.

Q: Can you trunk the switch ports? we are running two vlans for guest/internal wireless and need to be able to trunk coming off the router

Yes, these are L2 managed switches. Trunking does work.
