The Williams-Sonoma Baking Book: Essential Recipes for Today's Home Baker

It is fashionable to be critical of Williams- Sonoma guides ( indeed they do seem to have stretch their brand a tad thin in places) but this is an excellent book on Baking. W and S are best when they are talking basics - this is then their speciality. A straight forward and interesting book. Clear illustrations, easy step by step process and a good range of dishes makes this a very good addition to the Cooks Library. Don't be put off you know you want it and its worth it.

I was so looking forward to receiving this book, but I am rather dissapointed. I was expecting to find lots of new recipes and photos from the fantastic Williams Sonoma... but when I opened the book I found with dismay that it was only a compilation of other books. If you have the Cookies, Muffins, Pies & Tarts, Essentials of Baking and coffee cakes I would not reccomend you to buy this book.Nevertheless, if you do not own any of the above books, I encourage you to buy this well presented, well written, well photographed book....like all the WS books....!!!
