The Braun Thermometer came to my house in the most beat up box. Even the original packaging was really beat up so I was afraid it wouldn't work! To my surprise, the instructions were easy to follow and the thermometer works really well. It also works quickly. I am very satisfied with this product. I would definitely recommend it to any parent. Maybe I wouldn't recommend it to you if you were giving it away as a gift since it came to me so beat up.

For many years, the Braun ear thermometer has been used - it is beautiful, accurate, and comparable in accuracy to mercury thermometer. The readings are stable, regardless of whether the patient came from the cold street or something else. A model with a forehead measurement can give a reading of +/- 1...2 degrees in home.

We bought this for our newborn, thinking it was top of the line, and the most accurate thermometer. Our now 2 month old had a bad day with lots of crying and fussing, and I checked her temperature. It read 100.4 which is considered a medical emergency for newborns. Hours later at the hospital, the ER Doctor explained to us that no-touch thermometers are great for adults, but for infants you will get false readings because their faces are flush with blood while, and after crying making it inaccurate. It’s a nice device, but it’s not for infants.

Tried using thermometer about 20 different times and had about 20 different readings. Highly inaccurate, especially for the price. Will be returning.

This is a good buy, its saves lives but the accuracy can be abit off. If i tske a temp now and gain 2secs later the readings are different no majorly like it may read 36.4 and 2secs later its 36.7 its like that. The reading gives you a round a bout tempreture which isnt too bad plus the temps are colour coded. It goes from green, amber to red the accuracy doesnt jump warning colours which is good in whatever range your babys temp is it will stsy but just flucturate abit. I love this product irs with me all the time, so handy for a life saving tool i recommend you get one but there are so much to choise from i found this to work wonders

This is a really fantastic product, so easy to use and perfect for working with young children! I strongly recommend it to all parents of young children. The description tells you what it does, but I can tell you that it works well, is easy to use and seems well designed for the hand. I have used it with my 2 year old and 4 year old, the younger of which hated in-ear IR thermometers and neither of which will generally sit still long enough for a conventional thermometer. When used 'contactless', you press the 'on' button at the bottom, position it around 5cm from the space between and just about the eye brows and press the temperature button. A three stage animation pops up immediately take take the temperature, which must take no more than 2 or 3 seconds. If you haven't got the distance to the subject right, an animation guides you in and the temperature is then taken automatically. When used as a forehead thermometer, the routine is exactly the same but even more foolproof - just place the soft sensor area on the subject forehead and press the temperature button. When the temperature has been read the display shows the reading in large, bright, backlit numbers. The backlighting also reflects the reading - green for a normal temperature, yellow for slightly raised and red for high. There is also a slide switch on the side to mute all system sounds, which I have found useful as it makes the process feel even less invasive. My main caveat is that the subject needs to have been indoors for at least 30 minutes before using the thermometer, which may perhaps present a problem for GPs etc considering buying one of these. I should also say that, when I first turned it on, I got an error message a few times but this went away in a few minutes and I haven't had a repeat since.

Having kids, I have ended up with quite a few thermometers in my possession. Being a Braun branded, I trusted this to be the best of the lot, but unfortunately it is grossly inaccurate and inconsistent. The reading is always high and it jumps around all over the place, I have other contactless thermometers, in-ear ones and even a more reliable under the armpit digital one, all of those are fairly calibrated with one another, some better than others. But the Braun is always like 2 degrees higher and seems to always indicate a fever even when there is no illness. I would avoid this one and recommend something like the Yuwell instead.

Construction: Sturdy and well made. It fits comfortably in the hand. The cover to keep the temperature probe clean is a great idea (just make sure you take it off before using. Features: Pros: Clear and bright LCD screen which colour codes the temperature green, amber or red for easy when to panic decisions! A no beep mode, for those tykes who have hypersonic hearing when they sleep. Cons: no Fahrenheit mode only Celsius. This works for me but my wife is more familiar with Fahrenheit so an ability to swap between the two measurements would help. Operation: Pros: intuitive design means easy to take the reading at 4am in darkness with your eyes barely open. Can hold it around 5cm away from the forehead so no waking up the little one. Cons: uses light to take the temperature reading. It's a dull orange/yellow light so hasn't been an issue for us but it depends how sensitive your child will be to light. Because the temperature is measured from the surface of the skin it can vary wildly across the body, even just across the forehead. The instructions state that the reading should be taken from between the persons eyes. We had readings ranging from 37.6 to 38.2! In conclusion I would recommend this thermometer over those tricky armpit groin ones because its alot easier to use. Also no sticking on the ear- especially useful in those with an ear infection! Just beware the variation in readings
