Duffel Bag Genuine Vintage Brown Leather Goat hide 24" Travel Luggage bag

This review is based off first impressions. I may update after I've used the bag a while. Right off the bat, I want to say I did not find a funky smell that others talked about. There is a slight leather smell, but it's not overpowering or strong. The buckles and connectors were covered with wrap for protection, so they look great. Leather is goat, full-grain from what I can tell. It doesn't appear to be sanded like top-grain leather. The compartment is large. I put a queen size berber blanket in one and there is still more room, so for packing clothes this bag will be spacious. The side compartments are the full size of the bag ends...12x12 I think? I bought two bags and am glad I did. Now the husband can't steal mine! Only down side: One bag has one end that is a different color than the rest of the bag. So if you're super OCD, buy two bags, and return the one you like least. I think the color is fine, even if slightly different as it means I can pick my bag out of a line-up. :) It has now been over a year, and we are still in love with these bags. The only downside is the strap needs extra holes so you adjust where on your side you want the bag to rest. I am 5'8 and at the shortest strap length, the bag still hits me in the knees/back of knees when I walk. It seems fine for the 6' husband. Or you can cross-body it. Whatever works. Otherwise...almost 17 months in and we are still in love with the bag quality, and our purchase.

Great quality leather bag. When it arrived It was packed flat And had a strong odor. Was slightly moist feeling and pliable. When it arrived I packed the bag with balls of scrap paper and set it outside on my front porch for about a week until the odor dissipated and the moisture level was reduced. The bag firmed up and retained its shape. Have you used the bag on several short trips holds everything I need and seems to be very durable. Would definitely buy again.

This bag is simply awesome! Rugged design and very well made. There is a smell out of the package but it goes away l within a week and smells like normal leather. I would recommend using a leather cleaner or conditioner out of the box to help with the smell but once I did that I have no complaints and it looks like something indianna Jones would own lol love this bag! Plenty of room, my wife and I shared this as an overnight bag and we had room to spare.

I unpacked this bag and was pleasantly surprised. The reviews scared me a little with the comments about the smell..leather smells like leather. The size was as advertised and very well made. I put leather saddle soap on it and oiled it down. It is a beautiful bag. It will be a Christmas gift cant wait .

The bag is nice. Real leather. Has enough space and pockets for your stuff. My only problem is the smell. Already soaked it in baking soda and left out in the open air to try to make the smell disappear, but after months, the smeall is still there.

I have traveled all over the world with this bag for several years now and am very impressed. Only downside is the shoulder strap. I ditched it for a different one and believe this bag will easily last another 10 years. Looks great, fits easily in overhead luggage compartment on airplanes and can hold everything you'd ever need for a 10 day trip.

This bag is well-made and a beautiful deep brown color. Its shape makes it capable of holding quite a bit, making it perfect for weekend or even multiple-day trips. The storage sections on each end are helpful for packing smaller items. While there is a leather smell when the bag is new, I found it to be quite slight compared to another leather bag I have. The smell in this bag was gone in 24 hours and placing a small fan in the bag accelerated the dissipation of the smell.

When others reviewed and stated it smelled bad, I under estimated what a bad smell it actually was, and this took me 2 weeks to get to the point of even being able to bring inside the house after having in the garage and working on multiple attempts to get the "smell out" (newspaper, baking soda, leather conditioner, then doing all again then again)... After the time it took to get the smell out, then first time I picked it up with products inside (clothes) a handle on 1 side broke, and I had to fix myself. The leather (I say that gently, was this goat?) was so thin on the handle tab that attaches the handles to the bag broke. Repair of same required me to get a grommet & punch set, then creatively fix with surgery of the highest caliber. Yes works now, due to my having to double grommet all 4 handle attachments. Was it worth it for all that work, no...

i have so many leather bags but the do not smell that way very bad product
