Very impressed with this product. Be sure to get the expansion card for the cache. I got 2 x 1TB Nvme, set for RAID1. This substantially boosted the performance. This unit is built for speed. With 2 x SFP connections, you can get some crazy fast speeds for transfers. Great for using as external attached storage for Hyper-v or perhaps other virtual solutions. Also with the 2 x 2.5GB Ethernet ports, this makes it quite compatible with whatever you might have for existing networking. It also is feature rich - can be used for a ton of applications (i.e. Web server for example) which I won't be using. But the functionality is there. The QNAP cloud also opens the door for all kinds of options/solutions. I will probably be using the media server that comes with it. Looks pretty robust. I have nothing but great things to say about this product. Overall quite impressed. I will be using this for many years to come.

Arrived quickly and just as ordered. I was able to upgrade from my failed 6 bay NAS with no issue other than a little configuration that was needed.

I am a fan and long time user of Qnap nases. I bought this one with the intention of running pFence, since the nas already ships with 2x 2.5gbe and 2x10gbe. I though this would be perfect. But guess what ? This little babe doesn't even run virtualisation station (qnap app required to run pfense). I wonder why they would do a nas with 4 high speed ethernet ports that would not run pFense, this is a bit weird. So i use it as a backup unit only now. The rest operates 'ok'. Definitly not as fast as my tvs872xt, eventhough both nases have 10gbe and wd gold into them. I would say this one is 1/3 the speed 250MB /S MAX in raid 5

Buyers are not made aware (upfront) of the whopping 15-20% restocking fee + shipping costs until they try to return this product. This is outright dishonest. Virtualization station is not supported. Can't deploy/create or use VMs. No HDMI interface. I really regret this purchase & the return costs.
