May be a fine stove top espresso maker, but it doesn't work on our brand new GE induction range. Probably the diameter is too small to be picked up by the induction system. Update: I found a work around. Start using the induction element with something else and then slide the espresso maker over in its place. It fools the induction range. Works fine now.

So worth the extra money for a great product. No filters, no plastic, just high-quality stainless steel. Great coffee. Only downside is the rubber seal eventually corroded (real rubber!!), and Caroni doesn't sell replacements. We bought a replacement rubber ring from another brand and cut it a little to fit this model - good as new.
