Very easy to connect and set up!
The media could not be loaded. Bought these to replace some that I’ve had for years and One finally went bad. Very bright have a lot of options they’re definitely fun to play with the color changing they go to music all kinds of stuff. This video is what they do when you put music on listening to some Judas Priest.

Great source for warm light in a room, color control app doesn’t work
Purchased these bulbs to replace a 75W CFL that had burned out in a torch lamp. They work well out of the box, give off bright warn light that fills the room. However, the app to alter the light spectrum doesn’t work at all. Installed, followed the instructions of turning the light on/off to reset and connect to local wireless/Bluetooth, which seemed to work, but app kept cutting out, stating it couldn’t connect after ~15s. This happened regardless of the connection protocol used, and whether the controlling smart phone was right over the light or elsewhere in the room. Issue seems to be with the app and/or bulb connection as no issues with other apps and devices. Fortunately, the default setting is a warm white, adequate for needs, just would have been nice to test out options with different colors.

Great price and they work well.
We have 22 of these running in the house now, and use our Amazon Echo devices to turn them on and off. It's massively convenient—and compared to other smart lighting solutions, these are massively affordable.Even better, everyone gets to choose the color balance they prefer in their room, and we can have pre-set modes for things like dim lighting for movie watching and so on.Some tips:(1) To set these up, your phone will need to be on a 2.4Ghz network. Most home routers have both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz using the same network name (SSID), and phones will prefer 5Ghz, making the phone not want to talk to these for setup mode. To get around this is easy: log into your router and change the network name for the 5Ghz network to something else ("Temp" or whatever) just while you set up. Your phone will then connect to 2.4Ghz on your normal network name and you can set up the bulbs—and then afterward, change the name of the 5Ghz network back and all is well.(2) The way we have set these up took us a while to get right for Echo/Alexa. Basically, for each two-bulb room, we named the bulbs 1 and 2 (e.g. "Joe's Room 1" and "Joe's Room 2"). Then, we created a scene in the Smart Life app called "Joe's Room" that sets both bulbs 1 and 2 to the desired "on" settings. Then, in the Echo app we created a group called "Joe's Room" and added the bulbs to it. Yes, this means that the group and the scene have the same name. But the result is that you can still say "Alexa, turn on Joe's Room" or "Alexa, turn off Joe's Room" and both will work, and also (this is the important part), if you have some other custom setting (red, dim, whatever), you can say "Alexa, turn on Joe's room" and it will turn the lights on back to their default room settings. The key is to have a group name and the "default" scene share the same name, and to be sure to add the bulbs for a room to the room's group. All in all, we love these and it's especially useful for those in the house that read in bed, and then want to be able to turn off the lights without getting out of bed. :-DThe biggest problem that we have, mostly gone now—we kept forgetting that we had smart bulbs and turning the light switch off when we left a room, which meant that they wouldn't work the next time we entered the room. But eventually you lose that habit.

electronics fail before the light itself fails
I bought several of these lights so that I could control them with Bluetooth from my iPad. Reviews warned that they might disconnect, but I was able to get them to connect relatively easily at first. Some of them had inconsistent color, especially in the blue and purple range. But generally for a little while they worked fine.I have two problemsThe first is that the electronics that control the Bluetooth connectivity fail before the LEDs in a lightbulb do. The symptoms of this are that the light will disconnect from the app, and be very difficult to reconnect even after several attempts. The light will start to blink, then you have to put it into pairing mode, but even then, you have to try several times to connect them. Then, after a short period of time, the light simply won't turn on. Eventually will blink on it full brightness, and start blinking to try to pair again. There is no problem with the brightness of the light, the problem is with the connectivity. And there is no way to set the light to no longer require Bluetooth. so you have to throw away a lightbulb that probably has another five years of life in it because the wireless chip has failed. My second grade, which isn't as big of a deal, but I still don't like it, is that while I only want to use these lights with Bluetooth, every time you try to connect a light, or even use the app, it insists that you should connect to Wi-Fi. I don't want this. I have no need for my lights to connect to the Internet. For these reasons, I cannot recommend these lights. They are wasteful, and frustrating.

Very easy to get set up with the app
I've had smart bulbs before with not so great satisfaction. These bulbs are different. Not only can I operate them from my phone, they have multiple colors and color effects. Once I got the first one set up, the others got added in less than a minute each. Select add device on the app, screw the bulb in the lamp, turn it on and off three times, and presto, it's hooked up. I haven't tried the voice activation yet, just being able to turn on lamps I can't reach is a blessing to me. The colors seem to be pretty much unlimited as to brightness, saturation, and effects. I can schedule them to turn on and off. The scene mode is very interesting. I can choose, night, read, meeting, leisure, soft, rainbow, shine and gorgeous. I haven't tried the automation yet, but I will. I know there is much more I can do with these bulbs, they are very versatile.
