Chakraborty (The City of Brass, The Kingdom of Copper, The Empire of Gold) Review: Deep characters. Extremely well written, captivating story. I couldn't get enough. - I really liked the depth of the characters. Most of the time you get a main character and the others are supporting characters with little to no depth. This lady gives you multiple people with conflicting motives and desires. Fighting factions where no one is right or wrong and an unclear future as to who will prevail. Don't you hate it when you read a story where the plot is obvious? Don't you hate it when the story is one sided - good vs evil? She did such a good job with world and character building I felt the need to write this review. I love sci-fi and fantasy and never write reviews. Most are good, a few bad but this is an outstanding story. Are you tired of wizards, elfs, dragons, or space sagas? What about genies? Not interested. Maybe you should give it a try because she does a great job sucking you into the story. Review: A must buy - I LOVED these books so much. I couldn't put them down. They were so intriguing with well developed characters and story lines. I also loved reading a fantasy series where romance was hardly a thing, basically that back burner that nobody ever uses on their stove except like once a year. It was really refreshing to read a story that didn't revolve around the main girl getting saved by and making doe eyes at the guy. The politics, relationships, and exploration of middle eastern mythology so was so much more fascinating to me!

Great Read
Fantastic read! Highly recommend. You have to push through the first book to really understand the world dynamics, but the second and third book just got better and better.

Exactly what I wanted!
I received three paperbacks, which is exactly what I wanted. They each came individually wrapped in plastic and were packaged inside a separate box for protection.

Product as described
I read the first book and loved it, but my library doesn't have the sequels. I don't know why this has low Amazon reviews when the books are so highly rated on Goodreads.

False advertisement
So the last book, the one that was supposed to be hardcover based off of the description, came in paperback. So I spent $80 just for 3 paperback books bc of false advertisement.

ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT!!!
There is not much I can add to all the wonderful reviews about this author and her magical books. I am in awe - and I have been an avid reader all my life. The Daevabad Trilogy deserves a place of honor in any library, it's that good. Absolute masterpieces of storytelling!! These are books that you wish would never end, and will look forward to reading again, no matter your age or literary preferences. Works of magical art! I enjoyed them so much I wanted to start rereading the series upon finishing, but I had already bought her other two books by then and they were just as good!! I am so amazed by her skills as a writer it's like discovering Lord of the Rings for the first time! I hope she gets a great director, like Peter Jackson, who can do justice to the inevitable movies. The Daevabad Trilogy deserves the same creative treatment as Lord of the Rings, not some mere streaming series. That would just ruin a work of art.

What arrived was 3 softback-not the 2 softback and I hard back as shown in picture ,in the description and on my receipt which came with my order. On contact with Bookbundle they said they only had the softback in stock and offered me a small discount which I declined.I said that they were still advertising the set with the hard copy and showing last 5 in stock -they did not comment on this and instead asked me to return the item receipt in original packaging they were supplying a pre paid label for a full refund -I will be returning them But they are still advertising the set that they know they do not have stock off -which I have pointed out to them on 2 occasions-I consuder this to be misleading

Really, really enjoying the first book, the only problem i have is how small the writing is, even wearing my reading glasses i'm still strugging. Disappointing because the other two are the same.
