The wood is very soft and easy to work with.

Haven't tried carving them yet, so I'll update this review after 1st attempt.

I used them to stack on top of each other and painted them red white and blue. They aligned perfectly as they were cut to perfection

Nice smooth finish. I use paint pens to add color. Used raise the height of decorations. Very pleased with the number for the cost
