Gulp! Shrimp Saltwater Fishing Soft Bait

I fish for trout and redfish in the Gulf of Mexico off the Florida coast. This bait is my bait of choice. The bait is easily transported and stored (as long as you do not let it dry out), is more durable than the newer versions, is actually less expensive that many other options in today's market and most importantly the bait catches fish. I fish the bait with a "popping cork" for both trout and reds, use it on bottom for other species, sometimes attached to a jig. In addition to my targeted species, I have caught blues, blow fish, shark, flounder, pinfish, grouper, cat fish, lady fish, and other species. So be aware that it is certainly not species specific. I would like to add a caution. This review is specific to the new penny version of this bait. It does not include the softer newer versions of Gulp, eg. "mantis shrimp" or "gulp alive".

This bait feels and smells so lifelike, you’d swear it was fresh from the ocean. The potent scent disperses far, drawing in fish even from a distance. I’ve rigged it easily on a jig head and caught snook, redfish, and trout with zero fuss—and it’s tough enough to hang on through multiple strikes. It’s a total gearbox when live bait fails.

The lure catches fish however it came in a way lighter color than it looked online. Still catches fish though.
