Strong build. Super dark!

I've owned about 5 pairs of these since 2019. The only time they've broken is if I've accidentally stepped on them. High quality, great value for money, and blocks out more sun than any other sunglasses I've used. I bought these for after LASIK surgery, and have been using them ever since. One thing to keep in mind that isn't a concern for me specifically is if you're wearing them while you're driving, you may have trouble seeing your dashboard because of how dark they are.

Upon first inspection, they look great! I love the matte finish on the frame, which also hyper extend. Build quality seems really good. They come with a basic microfiber bag which helps protect them when not using. The first time I put them on it was like someone literally turned off the lights ... the room went BLACK. Completely unusable indoors; even outdoors on a cloudy day or at dusk/dawn. These are only usable on a very sunny day. I feel like I could look directly into the sun wearing these bad boys (but don't). These would be great for after you get your eyes dilated. Realistically, they're probably too dark for driving – not safe. I think the only time I can wear them is at the beach or something. Due to the style and shape (which I love), I find light leaks in from the sides and is very distracting/annoying. And the lenses are so dark they are almost like mirrors ... sometimes I can see my eyeballs and cheeks reflecting off the lenses (a strange feeling). Overall, they're what I was looking for, probably a little TOO dark. But still giving them 5 stars because that's what I searched for ... "dark black sunglasses".

These sunglasses are a nice quality and feel expensive, which is nice. Be warned, though, that the lenses are very dark. My husband and I laughed when we tried them on inside because we could barely see. The next day, he texted me and said he could not safely drive in them. They are best for a day at the beach sunbathing and people watching. Just know, the lenses are VERY tinted.

I get these for those sunny beach days and when I want to take a nap in the park or a sunny area. This is super dark and works well, well built as well.

These glasses are insanely dark and it's amazing. My boyfriend has a condition where his pupils make up 90% of his eye, so being out in the sun is super painful. We live in Florida, so you can imagine how that works. These make it almost impossible to see anything inside for a normal person like me, but my boyfriend is now able to exist outside with these and not get an instant headache.

I'm admittedly very hard on sunglasses - my Amazon purchase history shows over 10 purchases in the past 10 years (and a couple were 3-packs). Still, I'm far more likely to lose them or break them though obvious abuse (sitting on them, etc) than through normal use. These ShadyVEU sunglasses are by far my favorite for extremely bright days, especially when it's snowy, but the frames are noticeably more brittle than other inexpensive sunglasses. The first pair I had broke after less than a year of normal use. I replaced them with a new pair and was very careful about keeping them in a case, and they still broke from a normal drop that my other inexpensive sunglasses are constantly surviving. I may upgrade to the polarized Noctix model with TR90 frames, rather than buy a third pair of these.

Lenses were not as dark as described. Overall quality seemed similar to what could be purchased at a dollar store. Not impressed with these.
