I replaced the air bags with Arnott springs and the chassis warning fault persisted. The car was riding too high not letting air out. I was quoted £1400 for a new compressor so I thought I'd give this a go for £21. Stripped the compressor and it was soaking inside. I dried the desicant balls and replaced this valve and so far so good it's riding perfectly with no faults! Extremely easy fit and great value for money. It's worth a punt for the price hopefully it saves you all some money.

My 520d had dropped the rear suspension during a short journey and was then bouncing and thumping on the bump stops. I had recently fitted new airbags so unlikely to be both failing at once. Cycling the ignition I could hear the compressor motor whirring away so that was working OK. I removed the assembly to find there was corrosion around the solenoid valve. Blowing into the small hole revealed air escaping, meaning the valve was stuck in the open position (an internal spring should cause the solenoid to stay closed with no voltage supply). This meant that the compressed air was just escaping though the permanently opened relief valve and not building pressure to lift the airbags. This part fitted as a direct replacement, no problems and suspension fully operational again for less than £30. Would recommend

cheap fix and easy

Worked a treat, discharge valve not available from BMW, would need to buy a pump assembly at great cost. Car needs to be driven a short distance before suspension settled at correct height.

Seems to be as well made as the original and functions perfectly so far. For the money it represents 2 percent of the cost of a new compressor!

This was very easy to swap out, just removed the compressor from the car, dismantled the old compressor, installed this and put everything back together. Used ISTA to re-charge the system before lowering the car back off the jack and now it's working 100%. Symptoms before were suspension dropping fully onto the bump stops and when I eventually got it aired up it was very bouncy as I was driving.

Part was a direct replacement, doesn't appear to have fixed my problem though but that's not the parts fault

Cheaper than BMW original, but just as air tight. Used in the air suspension of my BMw 520d
