failed quickly - not recommended
I assembled mine easily and was able to mount a Harbor Freight corded hand drill to it with some effort because the drill neck clam is a bit too small for my drill neck. I used a hammer claw to open the clam a bit more to insert the drill and it works well. With the drill on it the whole frame is a bit head heavy and I mount the base to a heavy MDF board to stabilize it. I was able to use two 3/8 bolts to mount a drill press vise to the base and used it easily to drill wood or small metal pieces, the holes are pretty straight. It would be perfect if the base could be made of cast iron. It is OK for casual use or hobby and absolutely worth this price. For more serious user they should look for a real drill press.update: I changed the review from four star to one star, the mechanism that clamps the drill stand to the stand rod failed and there was no way to tighten the drill stand on the rod. It is a total failure after a few uses. After contacting seller for product warranty, they said they only provide 6 month of warranty and this one is out of warranty. Well, I guess they knew what they were selling, a tool that will not last more than 6 months.

Will it work with your drill.
I measured the collar on my drill, according to the description, it would work on my drill. It did not, I tried to use it on my dremel, but snapped half the drill holder off. I ended up buying a real drill press with the drill attached. It was my bad, I didn't want to send it back and thought I could re-engineer it to work on another drill, a smaller dremel. I still think I can re-engineer it for another purpose, Or have the collar welded back on. 99% of my amazon purchases are positive. Just have to be a little more careful about researching and making sure a product works for me.

Not a good tool
inaccurate, terrible design, drill will not move down in a straight line but a zigzag path.

Nice idea - Make one a drill will fit
I have a lot of drills - 1/2 inch drill, 1/2 inch hammer drill, Ryboi 3/8 inch, old red 3/8 inch, Ryboi 7.2 volt 3/8 inch battery drill. No drill - None - fit in this thing. Great idea, but is this only for a 1/4 inch drill? A Dremel tool? A AAA battery powered pin vice?Save the headache. Just go to Harbor Freight and get a small drill press that will at least get the small jobs done.
