The 1 thing I'll start with is, make sure you use a heavy grade extension cord!!! For whatever reason, the outdoor cord I used got hot & melted the plug. I had used the same cord for a radiant heater I replaced for this one. This one gets hotter quicker & blows air further. We use it for our outdoor porch that's enclosed with a custom vinyl/canvas tent surround. At cold temps, 30*, the temp. reached 52*. If heats the 4x12 area pretty quickly. At frigid temps, 0* & below, it takes at least 15 min's. Very happy w/it!! The size is small, and very compact, so it takes up very little space. I considered a propane heater, however weighing out the cost of propane vs. electricity, as well as the inconvenience, this made more sense.

ADDENDUM, Nov. 2024: Admittedly, I did not take care of this little heater. I left it out on the porch all through summer and it collected a fair amount of grime. It appears I have to buy a new one to get through another winter -- it is not putting out even half of the heat & fan power as last year. Is it my fault or just the life of the heater? I don't know. But at Black Friday prices, if I have to buy a new one every year, that's not so bad. I will take better care of the new one and let you know! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I couldn't afford much, but needed to find a space heater for my front porch for 3 feral cats I care for. The front porch is mostly enclosed, but not insulated and I have to keep the door open enough to let the cats in and out. I live in Colorado, so it's FREEZING in winter! I was worry so much about them. I searched Amazon for an OUTDOOR space heater, small (and affordable). Finally found this one! It had some decent reviews, and it was for OUTDOORS! Yay. Well, tell you what... this little heater has been FANTASTIC! It has worked like a champ all winter long, no matter how cold it got outside, this heater stayed on! It kept the porch nice enough that the cats loved it and stayed on the porch instead of disappearing to who knows where. And it never overheated or turned itself off! It worked fabulously. Details that might help someone: my porch is 6x13 ft. not insulated at all. We're talking about windows that leak, cracks around the doorframe. AND I have to leave the door open enough for cats to get in and out, but to help hold heat in, I used my staple-gun and tacked a shower curtain over the top of the door to hold in heat, and packing tape on the sides to hold the edges down. This heater worked great all winter!! Every day or two I have to wipe cat hair off the back where air gets sucked through. Never overheated--never turned itself off! I'll let you know if it lasts through next winter too! I highly recommend this little heater.
