This is a great meat thermometer and accurately measures the temperature of meats, as I contrasted it with conventional thermometer I use. It pierces meat easily but doesn't leave hole and the display is easy to read. Honestly it could be a little brighter, but no complaints overall. Highly recommend

I purchased this product use as a candy thermometer. This product works great for that! It doesn't quite stand up/fit with the product I purchased to keep it in place on the pot. It's a bit long, and either my pots are too shallow or too deep. Either way, I can get an accurate read for my caramel or candy, so I am happy to have it even if I haven't perfected the system. It's worth the value and there's a lot of recipes that call for one so you can't make it without it. It's a cheap investment for baking!

Bought one for a friend too. The one star review people left the cover on and stuck it in something hot.... duh.... Why this thing needs to even come with a cover is a mystery.

It's easy to use and bright enough to read. Cleans easily and seems solid. Long enough to use on hot right out of the oven and gives a fast reading. No burning fingers getting too close. The cover says on in the drawer.

Now I have been using this consistently for about 4 years now, but today I learned I accidentally put it in the dishwasher. Definitely not something you should do, however, when I opened up the battery case, the gasket had done its job, and all was dry. It still works. It is not designed to be dishwasher safe, however, I was impressed by the design and can confidently recommend this product!
