Can this be used for pools?

I believe the technical answer would be no. Because this is PVC, it's sensitive to chlorine. You would need material made of CPVC. I've personally used it for my personal pool but to my understanding it degrades over time. I am lucky enough that I haven't experience that yet but it's a small pool.
