My son needed this to drill out a screw that had been stripped. He said it was a nice set for the money. My son is a mechanic so I bought this so he could fix something for me, but he’s also going to keep it to use for himself. When my mechanic son is satisfied with a tool, I know that it is a good product.

I bought the wrong kit so I had to return it, however I was impressed at the quality and value given how cheap it is. Better than your average cheap kit at common hardware stores.

Pretty good quality set. Have used several different times without issue. The right sizes needed for most jobs.

I had never used a tap and die set but this kit made it easy to rethread a 12x1.5 bolt on my truck and the nut threads also. Made it easy!

Bought a new hitch receiver but bolts supplied refused to go into the prewelded nuts on the SUV. This tap and die set came to the rescue. Using the exact size specified on the bolts, I rethreaded the nuts free the rust. Perfect fit and the job was done in minutes! Beats paying for "professional" installation. :)

The set seems better than most at this price point. I have ordered and sent back other sets that did not meet expectations to the point that they were completely unusable due to horrific quality and poor manufacturing. For the most part this set seems acceptable with a few exceptions. About 4 of the dies had swagging on the threads that will lead to very poor performance and one was just outright missing the threads on one section. Also several of the taps had heavy flashing or were just plain unfinished so that the cutting thread teeth were rendered useless. I was able to use a jewelers saw and riffler files to clean them up. So not perfect by any means but then again they dont cost like an Irwin or Bosch set either so its a compromise. In this case I dont think I would order them again but they are useable enough at this price point that I will keep them. I wish there was an option available for a mid range priced set with at least mid range quality. As it stands you pay a cheap price and play tool roulette hoping for something you dont send back immediately, or you pay a fortune for a good quality tap and die set but feel like its getting the house in a nasty expensive divorce where no one is really happy.

After snapping off a petcock flush with a yanmar engine block, this product was a huge money saver. Rather than paying big $ for a mechanic, I was able to tap the broken bit out and replace.
