Bit fiddle to put together but well worth it. Really comfortable and the size is really good for someone who tends to be a restless sleeper

As President Trump would say... "This is HUGE!" This well-packaged cot arrived right on time, just like Amazon Prime indicated it would. And, when set up, took me less than a second to realize I had greatly underestimated its actual size, despite my habit of glossing through the dimensions. I wanted a large, sturdy cot, but really should have laid out the measurements on the floor. This thing is big... extremely well made, mind you... but did I mention BIG!? The finished, set up dimensions are: 40"W x 85"L x 10"H, with the end bars being a hair under 45" each, which would be no problem assuming I was using the very cool-looking TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Quick Tent that is designed to sit attached to the surface of the beast. However, other than using the cot as a spare bed or in a very large tent, it leaves little room for anything else. However, the unit is cleverly designed, solidly manufactured, extremely comfortable (particularly for my gargantuan frame) and quite easy to put up and put away in its carry case (included). The surface fabric is very heavy-duty (600D Poly Canvas), tough as a trampoline, and taught enough to bounce a quarter or small child with puppy, well into the air. As such, it required a bit of extra effort locking in the end bar the first time I set it up. I presume, as per instructions, that this will get easier once the fabric stretches a bit. I would suggest that the cot be assembled outdoors, for a day or so prior to its first real use, as there is a faint chemical odor that comes off the Poly Canvas top and you will probably want to dispel it. You may also need some maneuvering room as you get used to its size and set up. Be assured that this is not a back-packing unit at its rated 26lbs. But, it does make for one heck of a great night's sleep at a drive-in camp. When I added the accessory TETON Sports Outfitter XXL Camp Pad , I was happy to have spent the money. Life was good... very, very good!

This cot is almost perfect. It's comfortable and really, really sturdy. PROS Sturdy: I'm a tosser and turner and this thing has never budged on me, no matter how roughly I'm sleeping. I've also had me, my daughter and two 50-lb dogs hanging out on it and it didn't feel like it was even close to being overweighted. Size: I've taken to wanting to be comfortable while car camping. I put a egg crate twin sized mattress pad on this, and a jersey twin fitted sheet over both and it feels like I'm sleeping on a comfy twin bed. And again, I can toss and turn on this like I do at home because I don't feel like I'm going to fall off of it. Comfort: While I prefer adding a foam mattress pad, it really is comfortable both ways. It's firm enough that I don't wake up with back pain (I have a lower back injury and air mattresses are hell), but soft enough that I don't feel like I"m sleeping on the ground. Height: This is going in both the pro and con section - the pro to the height is that I can store everything in my tent under the cot, so there is tons of floor space in my tent. CONS: Setup: Because this thing is so heavy duty, the setup takes some energy. It's huge - so it's hard to not take out the tent or another person while setting it up, and the bars are hard to snap in. Height: At 5'3", I can't sit on this and have my feet reach the floor. Because I have a lower back injury, it's a little difficult for me to get in and out of this thing (which is doubly annoying when I have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night). The bars on the sides are really solid and stiff, and then the fabric dips just a little bit under your weight, so you are kind of sucked into the middle when you sit on it. Because I'm shorter, this means that I can't lean my body weight forward to get out of bed. My husband at 5'10" has no problems with this, so this is just a short person problem. Size: This is 90% a PRO, but... make sure you have a large enough tent for these cots. They are HUGE. And because they sit high off the ground, if you have a dome-like tent where the sides come in, you can't use the floor measurements for whether this cot will fit. We got a new tent this year and got a 7 person Coleman tent, with the intent of putting two of these cots in it, and it was too small! We wanted the cots at the far ends of the tent so that we could get in and out of the door, but the width of the tent was too narrow for the cots to fit. So we wound up having to return the tent and get the 10 person Weathermaster. That tent is actually overkill, but it's pretty lush having that much space. This is basically a twin bed for camping - so it feels really luxurious (especially if you put regular twin bedding and a nice comforter on it instead of sleeping bags - I have a crazy warm Ikea down comforter that has kept me warm even in 25 degree Northern Michigan nights). I'd highly recommend adding a mattress pad of some sort - it will take this cot from pretty comfortable to feeling like you are on a real bed.
