Beautiful, Beautiful paint. The paints are easily applied. If your working on smaller details I would suggest thinning them down with water a bit because they are a nice thick consistency. They will glide much better this way. I found that if I didn't water them then my minis would have somewhat of a chunky texture but it does dry pretty quick when they aren't thinned. I love the colors and I've found that they mix well. I've only ever used army painters but I don't see the need to go elsewhere. Yes, they are a little spendy but they are worth the price. A little goes a long way and they have mixing balls so you don't have to worry about them drying up so much. The colors are amazing as well as the quality. I'm at the point where I just want them all.

Army paints are simply the best. I have hundreds of them, literally, and every one performs excellently. Speed paints, Metallics, Washes, they are all awesome!!

I was so excited to get these and instantly opened them when they got here. Four of the paints had dried up, unfortunately. I contacted their customer service, and they sent a replacement for the ones that were dry. They got here fast as well. The colors are so beautiful and shiny. Love them.

The new Army Painter Metallic Colors paint set is phenomenal. They rival the Scale 75 Metal Alchemy line in my opinion as a true contender. These unique colors are vibrant, rich and shiny. It puts to shame any of GW”s line of metallic paints. The colors are simply beautiful. The red is my favorite but all of these colored metallic paints are truly unique to this line and you won’t find any other paint line that produces anything close to these. 5 stars all around!

got these as a gift for my brother who paints his own minis, and i love that it has such a wide variety, especially since most kits/boxes only come with silver, gold, and maybe bronze or copper. he really appreciated it and i didnt realize when i bought it but its actually one of the brands he likes

Well I was really looking forward to these. Bit when I received them 4 of the bottles were dried up and hard. I have contacted customer service to see if they can fix the issue. I will update review depending on what their customer service has to say. Edit: Customer service was easy to contact. And after a few emails back and forth with photos. I was I formed if the paints froze. They can sometimes harden and clump. So living in Utah in winter this is a plausible explanation. They did send me a new set to replace the ruined paints. Still have had a chance to use them but at least they stand by their products

I picked up this set for additional colors. again, a great product and easy to put on.

These colors look great, and are pretty consistent among the different paints. Very nice metallics. As with most paints, it will need two thin coats. No need to thin down with medium or water, but I still do use a wet palette to keep my paints from dying out over my painting sessions.

I'm relatively new to the world of miniature painting, so I haven't tried any paints outside of Army Painter products yet. However, from my limited perspective, this set is fantastic, giving you a diverse range of interesting metallics that can cover just about any requirement between them. The only negatives I can think of are that some paints require a lot more shaking beforehand to make them come out at the right consistency (particularly the Black), and it doesn't have a Silver included (but you'll probably already have one in your collection already before you buy this set) - but otherwise it's done everything I hoped it would, so I heartily recommend this set.

What can go wrong?

These paints were vibrant metallic colors that didn't particularly need double coats to show up well on miniatures. They give good color schemes without the need to mix paints.
