Great Addition for Skin and Coat
I have used this supplement for years. Originally using the standard recipe. When my new 1yo puppy started shedding this spring like I’ve never witnessed with my previous 6 dogs. This was my go to initially when my 1st golden retire mix was shedding like crazy. This pup has dry skin and itching. This has all the ingredients to help get her coat and skin in great shape and less shedding. She is fed a high quality holistic dog food so this should complete her diet. I can’t wait to see her skin and coat improve. She has a lustrous coat to start, this will give her the additional supplements that address the skin and shedding.

Amazing Coat at an Amazing Price!
We decided to try a supplement for skin and coat of our newly rescued 9-month old Golden Retriever. Our previous Golden shed constantly and always had dander, so we wanted to use a supplement to help this time around. My in-laws use NuVet and when I looked it up, I would pay a small fortune for a year's supply for a dog this size. I started looking elsewhere as my budget for supplements isn't in the $500 range. I love Amazon because of their reviews, pricing, free Prime shipping, etc., so when I saw all the good reviews for this product, I thought it was worth a try ... especially at this price. Allie, our dog, has now been on it for 2 months, and we really notice how beautiful her coat is. I don't know about shedding as she wasn't shedding much before, but her coat is so shiny and soft and when you pull up the fur to see the skin, there is no dander at all. Her skin looks so healthy and we noticed her itching was greatly reduced. That says a lot to me as this winter has been cold and dry, but her skin hasn't been affected. Everyone compliments her beautiful coat and I have to credit Missing Link for that. We will definitely continue to use this product especially because she LOVES the flavor and licks the powder out of the bowl! When she gets older, will probably try the hip and joint supplement instead since she is a large breed dog. Thank you to all of the previous reviewers for helping me to find this product! At $11-13 for a two month supply, we don't have to break the bank for her to have a wonderful coat.

I can say that I was a bit of a skeptic when it comes to supplements like this, but I have been pleasantly surprised
Well, I can say that I was a bit of a skeptic when it comes to supplements like this, but I have been pleasantly surprised. We bought this for my daughter's Schnauzer because it was staying at our house while they were moving. The dog had a series of small pimple like bumps on its back and had that flaky dermatitis and associated smell. Its coat was greasy and dull and the dog scratched constantly. We tried bathing and several shampoo skin remedies but they still didn't remove the core issue. I saw this product and decided to give it a go. About one week after administering the Missing Link the "pimples" began to disappear, the flaky dermatitis began coming off and the smell improved. The Schnauzer is a medium sized dog and we have been giving her 1 teaspoon daily in a small amount of canned dog food. This supplemented her normal ration of dry dog food and that way we can be sure she got the dose. She has been on the formula for about a month now and scratches much less, her coat has improved and is now much more shiny. The dermatitis and small bumps are gone and the smell has greatly improved. The dog seem happier and more relaxed. I wish I had tried this on some past dogs that we have had to help with other skin issues. It may not work for your specific issue but in this case Missing Link lived up to its advertising. It's economical given the dosage and the amount of relief it has brought to this dog and to us is invaluable. Thank you for a wonderful product.

... not the one to rant and rave about how great a product is but
I am not the one to rant and rave about how great a product is but, in this case, I feel that I have to thank the producer of Missing Link for their wonderful product. My 2 1/2 year old lab started having skin issues: really nasty hotspots and rashes. He was prescribed antibiotics and prescription shampoos; the relief was short lived. Last week I made up my mind to take him to the dermatologist: $175 to get seen only. A lady that I met at the dog park recommended this product. At this point, I was desperate enough to try anything. It worked like magic for my boy: in 24 hours he stopped most of the self chewing and, a week later, most of his hotspots are healed. His energy level is visibly increased and he is in so much better spirits. My other dog, a former stray, is allergic to flea bites (despite the fact that I changed her anti-flea medication to the best rated one); she is still pretty itchy. However, her energy level has also increases (like I needed a teenager dog to be more energetic). This product may or may not work for your dog; I think it has nothing to do with the product though but with the fact that it may or may not contain the component that your dog needs. Overall I am happy with it. The only reason why it gets 4 stars is because it does not work as well for both dogs.

Perfect for itchy angels
The Missing Link Skin & Coat Supplement for Dogs This supplement has made a huge difference in my dog’s skin and coat! After just a few weeks of daily use, I noticed less shedding, reduced itching, and a shinier, healthier coat. My pup used to have dry patches and dull fur, but now he looks like he just came from the groomer — even between baths. It’s super easy to use — just scoop and mix into food. My dog actually gets excited when he sees it going on his kibble, so the taste must be great too. I also love that it’s made with natural, omega-rich ingredients, including flaxseed and biotin, with no artificial fillers or junk. If your dog struggles with dry skin, flaky patches, or seasonal shedding, I highly recommend giving this a try. It’s been a game-changer for us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Visible results, happy dog, less hair on my floors — total win!

Hair restorer
SUMMARY: Works as claimed, very palatable, no residual odor common to other omega-3 additives, will buy again; rather long, complicated ingredients list including many unusual items, but can't dispute observable health results EXPERIENCE: Our chocolate lab pup has struggled with touchy skin for his entire 2.5 years. We've treated him for what MAY be intermittent yeast infections and for recurring ear infections with just brief success. Judging our guy has allergies, our vet steered us to adding omegas to his diet, but my wife and I can't tolerate the fish oil that seeps through his skin--what a stench. I found Missing Link when looking for a non-fishy replacement for the omega nutriceutical. The manufacturer's claims are correct. His coat definitely improved, and our vet was right too, as he's far less disturbed scratching. His hair is returning, though it's still a fight for him (right now the trees are pollinating, and he definitely reacts to tree pollen). There's also no breath or skin odor from the product. We've given it to both our labs (gotta be fair), and their coats have definitely improved. It's important to follow the manufacturer's instruction about phasing in the product over 1-2 weeks. Labs have touchy guts, and even on a consistent diet, they can empty a house with just a single, innocent fart. Like us, labs benefit from some fiber, too, but like us, too much change too fast is disruptive and eruptive. So, follow the instructions! It would be nice if the manufacturer included a long-handled, 1-tsp scoop (or, in our labs' case, a 1-tbs scoop). We keep a 1-tbs measure in the bag, but when you get near the bottom, you have to reach in. However, the product, a powder, is not sticky-greasy, so you don't bring it out on your hand. (We do live in a dry climate, so it might be worse in Seattle or Florida.) We feed our dogs California Natural, a 5-ingredient, grain-free dog food, and our experience has taught us that a low-ingredient-count food without grains is smart. We were pleased that this product is almost grain-free, as our dogs have been far healthier since we took all grains our of their diet. However, the ingredient list on this product is quite long, kind of like a human multivitamin, and it includes items that certainly weren't in the ancestral dog diet ("dried alfalfa meal," "freeze dried oyster?"). We're curious about whether all of these ingredients are really necessary, but you certainly can't argue with results. (Though our yellow lab, whose coat has been excellent on the California Natural, showed just tiny improvement with this Missing Link additive.) The dogs do seem to like the additive, but as they're labs, it's hard to be sure--they eat practically anything we might accidentally drop even NEAR their bowls. The product needs to be refrigerated after opening. That's a shame, but undoubtedly the result of including fresh ingredients without a strong preservative (good choice).

Something must have changed?
My 7 year old dog has always had a sensitive stomach and a few years ago became allergic to his dog food. I put him on an organic dog food, but he was still itching all the time. I tried so many things. Poor dog.. He was just ripping out his fur. I was so happy, as was he, when I found Missing Link. I'd say it took about a month to really see the effects of the shinny coat and and softness, but he found relief from the scratching almost immediately. I can't say the hair has grown back on his ears. He had a couple of small callouses on both of his ears. I was really hoping those would fill in since the reviews all said they'd had good luck with that. But, my dog really just needed the allergy relief that he's gotten. So that's all that matters. I've tried both the regular and the Ultimate Skin and Coat. I think they have the same ingredients. The thing I've noticed along with the itch relief is the overall happiness to just go and run around and be a dog. I've got another dog that eats grass and dirt. Gave it to her and she stopped eating snacks outside. Both my dogs love Missing Link. 4/17/14 UPDATE It seems that my dog who has been eating this faithfully for two years now is scratching again and has bald spots. I don't know if the formula has been changed or he just got used to it and it doesn't work for him any longer, but since he's uncomfortable I've had to find something else for him and his sensitive skin. While it worked it was great. It's weird how it just stopped working.
