Turning in my Ostrim Stick Card
I have been eating Ostrim sticks for 5-6 years as a quick protein boost while I am on the go. I have always found them pretty dry and salty but chalked it up to being a shelf stable high protein meat stick. I have been buying them on the go a few sticks at a time in grocery stores for 2-3 bucks a pop and felt I needed to get another bulk order through amazon. During my search I stumbled on Vermont Smoke & Cure's sticks and Amazon had a coupon. They were cheap enough that if they were not great I could figure out a way to get through them. I just tried my first one and I am hooked. They are moist and very subtle in flavor. Not as bold as I would like a pepperoni but also not salty. After tasting how much better this was I took another look at the company/ product and Ostrim. These sticks win and here is why: While the flavor is subtle it is more palatable than the salty bold flavor in Ostirm Pepper flavor. There is more fat in these which contributes to them being more moist. Fat is not the enemy I would rather more fat and less salt/ sugar. These sticks have less of both salt and sugar and the texture is far superior due to the company making the choice to have more fat present. These sticks are smaller 28 grams versus 42 in Ostrim but about 35% of the stick is protein versus about 33% for Ostrim. Cost is about even if you think about servings being different and per unit these sticks are cheaper. Then there is the matter of responsible farming practices, antibiotic free meats, ingredients that you don't need a chemistry degree to understand. Vermont Smoke & Cure wins on all accounts. I will be buying some different flavors to try and a turkey stick with a little more flavor and will post reviews on those flavors.

These Are The Best!
The pepperoni’s aren’t as soft but tastes just like pepperoni. These are by far the best meat sticks my husband has eaten except for the Landjaegers he grew up with in Germany. They don’t have the greasy film or aftertaste the others do on the market but these are very expensive by comparison.

Consistency and flavor are pretty good, price and nutritional value are awesome
I was hesitant to buy these based on some bad reviews, which made them sound super squishy in consistency. I found them to be medium consistency, not chewy at all but not squishy, nothing unpleasant texture-wise. Shared with a coworker who agreed they taste pretty solid, good flavor, not like the best jerky ever flavor but tasty and an enjoyable snack. For flavor alone I would say probably 4 stars. It's possible since the bad reviews have been posted that they've addressed any quality issues they used to have. Where they really score is the nutritional side. Natural ingredients, high protein and very low sodium per snack compared to like *ANY* other jerky brand on the market. You will find very few snacks this healthy (if sodium is a concern) that are also this affordable and taste this good. At $20 for 24 sticks (got it thru Subscribe & Save) this is an awesome little protein snack to have during the day. Unless you're looking for chewy, salty jerky, these are probably exactly what you want.

Description updated based on seller response and product description update
*Update* Product description and photos have been updated per the seller response. Updating my rating accordingly as the product is worth the price paid. Though I may not have purchased this one based on the nutritional comparison (which is what I was shopping for), I do not regret the purchase and may still buy more moving forward. *Original* Rating this for false advertisement. I ordered the Uncured Peoperoni (24 1oz bars) and I chose these over othe similar products because of the nutritional stats advertised. This is advertised as : 10 G protein, 1 g carb, 3 g fat, 230 mg sodium per stick. However they are actually: 8 G protein, 2 g carb, 2.5 g fat, 240 mg sodium. I did not receive the wrong product. It's just incorrect advertising, not only in their photos but also in the written description which states it has 10 G protein. The sticks are tasty and the consistency is inline with a Slim Jin. I shopped for a jerky snack based on the nutritional value with the intention of going through a box per week. Because of the false advertising I will not be purchasing products from this company moving forward.

I’m disappointed
I’m sad I have to write this review. I have been eating these for over a year now, they are my go to snack. High protein, low carb non-inflammatory however, my son ate one recently and it was moldy. He does not eat many things and now he refuses to eat this. I sent an email but have not heard back

Salty, But Does Taste Like Pepperoni
"Salty!" was my initial reaction upon biting into one of these.. The label lists total sodium at 240mg per stick - not bad - but to me it seemed like I was getting half of that per bite! In any case, I soldiered on, and finished it, And even had another one a few days later. Actually, these are not bad if you eat them with something else (like a salad). That way there is something to balance out the salt. They do have good protein content (8 grams), and low fat (2.5 grams total, 0.5 saturated). Texture-wise, these are on the softer side of solid, not hard and chewy like typical jerky. Yet they are not mushy at all, and are perhaps a bit on the drier side. To me, that is what I prefer anyway. I don't like those really mushy sticks that feel like you are squeezing a tube of liquid meat when you bite into them. The taste is very strong, a bit over-powering compared to most of the other meat sticks I've tried. However, if you like the taste of pepperoni, you should like these because that's basically what you are getting. The Vermont Smoke and Cure brand is an excellent one in general. Their Grass-fed Beef sticks are the best overall meat sticks I've tried so far. These are a bit different, but they are flavored Turkey sticks, and they are cheaper. I expected something a bit milder in flavor, but these will do fine for when I want something with a bolder taste.
