The brass body makes this pen look elegant compared to other Retro 51s that are fully painted. The pen is thick and has some weight to it. It feels sturdy and well made. The twist mechanism is smooth. The clip is very tight compared to other pen clips, but it still slides onto book and into pockets well because of the hooked design. The ink that comes with the pen is a Schmidt gel refill. It is very smooth and very black, but it feathers slightly on bad (not the same as cheap!) paper. I replaced the ink cartridge with a Fisher Space refill (same as a Parker G2 with the included converter). It fits perfectly.

Bei diesem Kugelschreiber liegt keine Kopflastigkeit vor, wie zum Beispiel bei schwereren Modellen )39g) einer anderen Serie von Retro 1951. Die Mine habe ich ausgewechselt gegen eine Schneider/Parker mit breiter Strichführung (B), da mir dies beim Schreiben angenehmer ist. das kann aber jeder für sich selbst entscheiden, nur schön, dass es hier möglich ist. Ich kann nur für dieses Modell sprechen und würde es empfehlen.
