Worth the price.
This is the only thing that works to get rid of my fire ants, its well worth the extra money you pay. The cheap Amdro is a joke and doesnt work at all, its like playing whack a mole and they just pop up somewhere else a few feet away.

This stuff is life changing
Every summer for years we have fought fire ants. Not just in the yard, but in the kitchen. Every day. For years. We wake up to anywhere from a couple to a couple hundred fire ants in the kitchen. You eventually dread even going into the kitchen because there was always fire ants in there. We keep everything either in ziplock bags or in the fridge but they still come in. We first tried Extinguish mid-summer last year (2024) and the day after I put it out was the first day we didn't have any fire ants in the kitchen. I honestly thought is was a fluke, but they just never came back. This year we put it out starting in late April and we haven't had any ants in the kitchen. Not one. We sprinkle it on the ground along the wall outside the kitchen. We also treat other areas that are important to keep fire ant free, like the dog's play kennel. We put it out every couple weeks through the summer and we also treat mounds as soon as we see them. Usually one treatment will kill a whole mound, but it may take a few days. Large mounds may take 2 or three treatments. The most I've had to do is 3 in a large mound inside the dog kennel. It may have been good with just or 2 but I didn't want to take any chances. This stuff is life changing.

One of The Very Best Fire Ant Mound Killers
The best fire ant killer that I have ever used. It kills the mound completely and does not just move the ants to a new location in your yard.

Proper Application Info - Not Provided
Based on reviews, this is a good product that performs as promised. However, there were absolutely no instructions/guidelines re: application rate, broadcast/drop spreader settings, water in or not, how soon before or after rain should product be applied, safe for pets and kids immediately after application or? I don't know if this info is normally provided with the product but it would have been damn helpful to have it. Is the manufacturer responsible for the info or should Amazon have checked the product before shipping? I went to manufacturers web site and didn't find anything useful regarding product use; perhaps the info was there but hard to access or maybe the manufacturer needs to upgrade their web page. Read some FAQ info on web site that provided at least minimal guidance to product use. This lack of user info may be an out of the ordinary event but Amazon and/or the product manufacturer need to pull their heads out and do a better job. I hope this stuff works as advertised; we'll see.

Does NOT kill fire ants!
Don't even drive ants underground for a single day, much less kill a single ant. Seen a professional on YouTube use this bait and several others and claim they all KILL ants, but NOPE! I even treated the mounds SEVERAL times with the bait and did not kill a single ant. What a disappointment and VERY expensive. At least the over and out Walmart and Lowes sells will keep the fire ants underground a couple days. This bait is pure trash!

Hands Down Best for fire Ant mounds!
Use yearly for last 6 years in horse pastures - every year have fewer mounds. Safe for horses, says no need to keep horses off, but we do keep horses off for several days. Just wait to apply when ground/ weather is warm and dry. This is the only pesticide/chemical used on our farm ever.
