This Hot Air Gun is very handy and easy to use. The listing description does not mention air temperatures, so I made measurements. I think this device was made primarily for use with the clear shrink wrap film (shown at the left in the first photo) that is often used to seal product packages. For that, it works very well. It might work well for the large, thin, colored heat shrink tubing made for wrapping battery pack assemblies. It also works nicely for small to medium diameters of electrical heat shrink tubing like the products made by Raychem, Sumitube, and others. I bought it specifically for that application. (Small dia is shown in the first photo.) You need to get fairly close to the tubing, within about 5 cm, but this is helpful, making it easy to control the shrink without overheating nearby parts. It will remelt hot melt glue if you get close enough for long enough. The nozzle is not made for use with a wrap-around heat deflector like the ones that sometimes come with heat guns specifically intended for heat shrink tube. The temperature profiles are shown in the photos (in °C) measured with a tiny thermocouple; 217° in the center and 38° near the nozzle edge at 3cm distance, and 101° at 10cm distance. This device is compact and lightweight, making it easy to fit in a tool kit. The internal heating coils glow faintly red in operation and the air flow volume is good. There is no cool down mode (fan on, heater off); it is all or none, but this seems to work fine with no risk of overheating. There is a cool air bypass that flows along the inside of the red nozzle shield to keep it cool during operation. This looks like a well designed product. Recommended.

I really like this little heat gun! The long cord gives me plenty of flexibility, and it has a nice weight—light enough to handle easily, but sturdy enough to feel well-made. I use it mostly for drying watercolor and acrylic paintings, and it works perfectly. It's also great for melting crayons during wax art projects. My kids love using it for their own crafts too, and we've even found other uses around the house, like drying a shirt that got a bit of water on it. I appreciate the smaller profile compared to traditional heat guns—it takes up less space and is easier to store. The built-in stand is a great feature, keeping the hot tip safely off the table between uses. Highly recommend for anyone who does DIY or craft projects!

I recently picked up the Uptdae Version 6.56FT Long Corded Heat Gun, and I’m really impressed with how well it works for a variety of tasks that require quick heat in a small area. Whether it’s for craft projects, shrinking wraps, or general repairs, this heat gun gets the job done. What I Like: Long Cord: The 6.56FT cord is long enough to give you plenty of movement without being too bulky. Quick Heating: The heat comes on fast, making it super convenient for tasks that don’t require long heating times. Easy to Control: It’s surprisingly easy to control, which makes it a solid choice for both beginners and more experienced users. Overall Impression: If you’re looking for a reliable, efficient heat gun that doesn’t break the bank, I highly recommend giving this one a try.
