Ski shoe shuffle
This is a novel ski traction undersole product aimed at protecting the base of your expensive ski boot. Unfortunately, one of the bolts was missing from my ‘traction’ sole. Looking at the supplied bolt, it is of a simple metal design. I would suggest that it could be replaced by one with a nylon insert so that it locks more effectively in place. This is used in many applications such as the handle for my Concept 2 rowing machine. The instructions also state that the bolt be screwed in "with a Philips screwdriver". Whilst the bolt has a cross head design, it is entirely flat and this does not work with any of the Philips screwdrivers that I own (PH1, PH2 or PH3) or any of the Pozidrive screwdrivers (PZ0, PZ1 or PZ2). I did find that a large flat bladed screwdriver worked well, as did a hexagonal 8 mm socket for the one nut that was supplied with the pair of Ski Boot Traction. I emailed the French manufacturer, Sidas, immediately upon receipt of the goods. They provided, by return, and at great expense to themselves via DHL, a box allegedly containing the spare. Unfortunately the box contained 30 spare walking spikes which is for a different product - and not the single bolt replacement that I had requested. This is disappointing. I have never seen this product around the ski resorts before, so was most curious as to its use and usefulness. These traction soles are surprisingly heavy and robust (adding to baggage weight) and what do you do with these when they are wet and you are at the chair lift? A handy drawstring bag to carry these around would be brilliant, protecting both the product and the interior of a backpack. The concept is really good. These are eye-catching in bright green and have really good traction (as is the intended aim of this product). They have a handy hanging loop at the back for storage and when not in use. They clip on and off easily (like clipping your boots into skis). They are flexible enough to fold in half for portability when not in use. Unfortunately, due to lack of skiing this year, these are untried in skiing conditions but I do envisage these being a handy addition to my ski equipment requirements, going forwards - provided that the missing bolt arrives at some point!

Great for walking
I bought these on recommendation and am pleased I did. They give good grip on paved and tarmac surfaces, protect the hard plastic boot and the shape gives a slightly curved base that makes walking much more comfortable. I'm not sure they're great for walking on ice (let's face it not much is) but they're fine on packed snow too. Definitely worth having if you find walking any more than a couple of feet in your boots.

Grippy and good quality
I have alpine soles, no grip walk. This is a great product if staying somewhere not ski-in/out, don’t have to worry about slipping and preserves the soles from wearing down.

Protects boots and helps when walking on difficult terrain
Ski boots are designed to fit flat on skis so are not best suited for walking on snow and ice. Despite this they are fine for short walks on reasonable terrain. If walking longer distances then there are two possible issues to contend with - damage to the soles of expensive ski boots and difficulty getting a good grip. These Sidas ski boot traction grips come with easy to understand instructions. You simply move one half of the grip to match the length of your ski boot and screw them in place. The marks are 10mm apart (260-350mm). My boot was 7mm longer than the nearest mark but the instructions recommend fixing to the smaller mark, when between. Even then they were easy to stretch onto the boot whether they were on or off the foot, using the handle at the back. Once fitted they stay in place and protects the base of the boot and the part of the boot that fits in the bindings. The rubber is softer than my ski boot and has a good tread so it significantly improves traction. The only downside of these grips are they are a little big to carry in a low-profile day sac although they would be fine in a normal backpack. I would not advocate wearing them for short easy walks but for longer treks they will be good for my boots and make it easier to walk on more difficult surfaces.

Rubber soles
This item arrived safe and well packaged. These are quite simple rubber soles that fit over the bottom of your ski boots. They slide over your boots and help you to walk without the skis attached. They come in handy when coming from the piste in to the bar. I highly recommend this product

Good adjustability and thick.
These are very sturdy and I like the fact they are adjustable rather than too stretchy. They will outlast your boots, but they will also protect your boot soles, thus protecting the interface with your bindings.
