My son 7 years old bought a cheap plastic rainbow spring from a school sale. He was truly upset that it didn’t work down the stairs, the whole thing basically tumbles down the stairs and may as well not be a spring. Decided to buy a metal spring in the hopes for a better display. My son was not disappointed, this spring works great on the stairs, looks impressive and I do like the sound of the spring (metal on metal). I do second what others have said, it’s probably too long for any tricks in between hands, but honestly I bought it for my son who likes to use it on the stairs and for that I can’t imagine a better spring.

I picked this metal slinky over plastic etc for my kids stockings. It was a great gift and well recieved. They love it and I love the quality. They both are now a few years old and still going strong so great value for money. Great size, not a mini one and the kids have good fun with them. Metal, so silver colour rather than rainbow etc like the plastic ones.

Just get this one. Don't mess about with smaller ones or plastic ones, just spend the extra couple of quid and get this one. It goes down stairs, it gets tangled less than other slinky, it's better all around.

This was a great product and lots of fun for my 6 year old.. until my 3 year old tangled it up and we couldn't disentangle it so had to throw away. In the end plastic may be better for slinkies if younger kids are involved.
