solid design, watch out for the grind
Third time was the charm: bought three of these: the sheath is great, the best you can get with most knives; the knife design is also very good (although I am not sold on the second edge for bushwork). great balance and weight. the 11+oz blade does well for chopping, handle balance does not cause wrist fatigue; the first two had problems with the blade(Ka-Bar, you need a better QC) ; the first blade came in dull (I'd expect $120 MSRP knife to be sharp); the second blade was even worse: asymmetric bevel grind by almost 0.5mm: may be ok for a kitchen knife, but not for a bush knife when heavy use is expected. returned both. the third was done right, very sharp out of the box, so a keeper.

It looks better in person than any pics I have seen
Just received the TUROK and the first impression is WOW!!! It looks better in person than any pics I have seen. The size is perfect for what a mid to large knife should be. Not a knife I would want to baton with but, if I had to I'm sure it would be fine. Not a knife I want to baby either, it just makes you want to use it, even if it's just to cut my sandwich in half ( not that I cut my sandwiches but, I will now ). I originally bought the Globetrotter, it is such a good knife when the TUROK came out I didn't even think about it, it was a done deal. I watched some of Jesses' vids on these two knives but, gave up because I kept looking at his puppy Roxy, what a gorgeous German Shepherd. Of course with Amazon Primes' free two day shipping I got the knife without any real wait. Great job Jesse and Kabar. And of course Roxy!!! Update: the knife is very sharp out of the box, it doesn't need any touch up sharpening. I really like the substantial flat grind on the blade, good for slicing and dicing. I like the swedge for stabbing / penetration purposes. Like I said not going to baton with this knife unless I had to, I have other tools for that. The balance point on the knife is just around the front screw on the handle so it is a little handle heavy, which is fine because it makes the knife want to stay in my hand. The handle is very ergonomic and comfortable in the hand with no hot spots with the squeeze test. I like the finger choil on the handle this makes for a better grip on the tool / weapon. This is a combat / utility knife that can be used for other purposes. This isn't my bushcraft knife, it's little brother the Globetrotter is my bushcraft knife, this is my general utility / defense / hunting / SHTF knife. This knife screams EXCELLENCE!!!!!

Great value for an amazing knife.
This Ka-Bar Jarosz Turok is a great knife. The blade is Ka-bar's 1095 CroVan that they use on their BK line as well as the combat/USMC knives. While I did not think I would like the grip material it is actually extremely comfortable and grippy. The blade profile and edge geometry make this a great blade for cutting but it is beefy enough for hard use. Oh, and it comes super sharp. What truly blew me away was the sheath, it is amazing that a knife of this quality comes with this good of a sheath for this price point. The Leatherman Rebar multitool was thrown in for size perspective and is also a good value multitool.

Great knife
4/5 for one reason only: 1 minor and fixable imperfection, and the fact it dropped 12$ from the time I ordered it, to when it shipped, a few months after amazon stopped doing partial refunds on anything but TV's. Otherwise, it's the best knife I've ever owned. I was going to buy either this, or the SOG seal team elite. After much debate and controversy, youtube videos and the like, I decided to go American and go KA-BAR. For the most part, I'm glad I did. I've owned SOG knives (seal strike elite) and the tip broke off by dropping it on the floor a few times, despite seal pup durability reviews you will see on youtube, I'd come to the conclusion that SOG while they make a good knife, has problems with quality control and that is just something we people who require a beast of a knife that WON'T BREAK cannot tolerate. So, my Turok. Durability testing went so well I should have made a video. Battoning, hacking, slashing, stabbing through metal (tin, aluminum, etc) was so freakishly easy it wasn't even funny, all I managed to do was scuff the knife some which looks even cooler after running a buffer over it for a couple minutes. Was fairly sharp out of the box, but this is a 1095 Carbon crovan steel blade! Get yourself a proper sharpener. The flaw: The handle while the design is beautifully perfect has one screw protruding on the end side (right finger right hand area) although this screw can be filed down and you wouldn't notice. The two plates on the handle were not perfectly centered, nor is this "easy" to do when tightening the two bolts, that being said this knife is very easy to take apart and put back together, and inspires me to make my own handles even though the ultramid ones are very comfortable, despite their looks. Do I think this is gonna break? Hell no. What do I wish was different? Well, grippier grips for water would be cool - I like something like a SOG handle though. Besides that, I want partial serrations which I now have to apply to the knife myself and hope I don't **** it up in the process. Still, it's my favorite knife ever and for the price I cannot complain and I trust it far more than I trust SOG. Oh, by the way, the sheath is awesome, worth quite a bit of money in itself no doubt. This was a big seller for me. Compared to a traditional KA-BAR, this thing rocks (I own several) and it has made my old-school father quite envious. A must have for any KA-BAR collector, and an excellent survival knife with a little customization!

Everything is good, great workmanship, 1095 CroVan, except that personally I don't like and still can't feel great about the "plastic" handle. But still, worth the buy.

This is a big, solid knife made from a big hunk of steel. Good as a survival tool and as potential weapon in extremis. I took the black coating off the spine with wet and dry, to get a good spark from a firesteel. Moulded sheath is reversible for LH or RH carry and holds the knife very firmly.
