Amazon Basics Retractable Permanent Markers, Quick Drying Fade Resistant Ink, Versatile Art Supplies for Drawing, Black, 12 Count

This product seemed okay at first, but after about 4 uses/clicks, the pen flap that keeps it from drying out does not retract. The "click" gets stuck and either does not eject the tip or it wont go back in and thus dries out. I very quickly was not able to use these as long as I was hoping due to the malfunctions. I also found them drying out faster, not sure if it was because it not fully closing or the are not sealing well. I LOVE Amazon, but these markers were awful! Please keep in mind, this was about a year ago (2023), so maybe they improved them.

These Amazon Basics retractable permanent markers are super convenient—no cap to lose and easy to click open and closed. The ink goes on smoothly and the line quality is solid. However, they don’t last very long. I found they dried out faster than other brands, even with light use. Still good for short-term projects or bulk use.

I waited a while to review these. There were complaints about them not lasting as long as Sharpies. They've already lasted me long enough to be happy. Maybe all 12 will dry out after I hit [Submit], but the odds don't favor it. They write great and are a good alternative to the Sharpie Fine Point - which is always priced way above the Sharpie Extra Fine Point.

Just buy the Sharpie brand! I bought these and passed them out at work. A few weeks later, I asked how the pens were doing and got the biggest laugh. Only one pen was still working. They either dried up, or the click did not work. This might be the worst item I have ever bought on Amazon.

Unfortunately, the spring in these markers stop working after a frustratingly short-time and the clip frequently gets broken off, which renders the marker completely unusable. I like the idea but the execution is meh.

This set of retractable permanent markers is comparable to another brand name marker; lets call them Dullies. Especially for the price point these markers have a good quality color and they can write on any surface much like the Dullies. I did find that these pens did smell as strongly of solvent like the other ones; so sorry highschoolers you're not getting high on these. The pocket clip is very well designed in that when you engage the clip it automatically retracts the pen tip so thats an improvement over the Dullies. Also there is a good variety of colors.

Perfect for what we needed!!

The retractable permanent marker is super convenient! I love the variety of colors and how easy it is to open and close without worrying about a cap. It’s perfect for quick use and keeps the ink from drying out. Highly recommend.

Use these everyday for over a month now and they haven’t dried out yet. Worth every dollar!

I love these markers. Because they have the click mechanism, I never have to worry about where I left the cap. It makes things so much easier when you have a small job for them.

Used it for disney, love them, they dis run a bit and didn't dry as fast as sharpies

Better than expected quality, the ink applied to the paper nicely. the mechanism did not feel cheap
